The name “Curry Cafe” and the lack of any actual Indians eating there should have sent alarm bells, but what was in store for us was a shock even to the most wary traveler.
The food was overpriced and horrendous. Any Indian mum could make better food. It appeals to the dampened taste buds of the French perhaps, but if you are an actual Indian, I would avoid this place like Typhoid.
We ordered Afghan Chicken, Butter Chicken and Chicken Tikka Masala with Naan and Rice. This came to €50 which is absurdly pricey so we expected good things - especially since reviews place it as a 4.6 stars. They forgot our Naan, the Rice was microwaved, and the Butter Chicken had sugar in it. The Afghan chicken came on a wet sloppy plate with four pieces and the cutlery did not get changed in between dishes.
The one positive was that the staff were very hard worked and are multi lingual so communicating should not be an issue. Ask them where the nearest Indian restaurant is, because this...
Read moreWe've just had a wonderful meal at Curry Café. The flavours, textures and presentation was fantastic. The two guys who served us were so friendly, helpful and generous. They gave us two complimentary non alcoholic cocktails each and two shots each at the end too. Plus a lovely coffee. And all that was on the house!
The service was attentive but not intrusive. We were made to feel so welcome.
This restaurant serves proper paneer: a rarity in France. And it was presented sizzling on a griddle. A lovely touch. Delicious vegetables with it too. The garlic naan was perfect. Really garlicky, buttery and crispy. A special shout out for the mango pickle. Our waiter noticed how much we enjoyed it and brought down some more for us. That's excellent service.
I highly recommend this wonderful restaurant. All places should be as good as this but so few are. The bill was very reasonable and I left a huge tip which they really earned. Truly excellent...
Read moreI went for lunch here (as an international visitor and do not speak French) and the staff were all extremely nice and helpful. For appetiser, the onion bhaji was very tasty, but I felt the paneer pakora was a little bland. The tamarind sauce they gave alongside the appetisers was very good! They also gave mango pickle which was quite spicy but tasted good, however I felt the mint sauce did not taste good so we did not have that and mainly had the tamarind sauce. The main courses we got were very tasty! Aloo gobi, Shahi paneer with plain naan and basmati rice - all excellent, very well cooked and tasty. Good portion size for all dishes - we shared all food between 3 people. Overall I would recommend this restaurant, good food and good...
