It was an.... interesting experience. We did not receive the service we expected from this restaurant. The waiter was definitely trying his best, no doubt. However, it was hard to communicate in English. We tried to speak as much French as possible. Despite the efforts, the order ended up going wrong. Instead of getting our starters first, only one starter was delivered together with the main dishes, making it impossible to finish everything at the same time. Such a shame, as the food was really good! The pizzas tasted impeccable, and the summer gnocchi was outstanding as well. It just was not nice to get only one starter at the same time as our main dishes.
Once we had ordered dessert, something went wrong again. The tiramisu was way too cold, and the coffee was atrocious. I ended up with an espresso filled with coffee extracts. After complaining, I did receive a free new one, though it definitely was not nice, and it felt strange that they messed up such a simple thing. I am grateful to have received a new one, but it did feel worth pointing out, also to stress that the team is trying their best to solve all issues.
Overall, good food but service...
Read moreThe 18 euro maradona pizza only had 3-4 pieces of anchovies, so more than half the pizza didn't have any fish. The burrata wasn't there, only little pieces of burrata dispersed over the pizza, it certainly didn't meet up to expectations as I was expecting a burrata in the center of the pizza.
I had a 7 euro tiramisu which tasted frozen, the cold just completely denatured the taste of the coffee and rum, it tasted like cold watered down diluted coffee, a let down that stayed with us as we left the restaurant.
For that price point, the expectations were set with a higher amount of both anchovies and burrata on the pizza and a dessert that should have been plated and not in a frozen glass, it felt sloppy.
The atmosphere and service were good and I appreciate the quality and freshness of the ingredients on the pizza, I just wish there were more of them. Looking at other reviews, I think I...
Read moreHaving read the really positive reviews we decided to eat here on our trip to Toulouse. Arrived at 7pm on a Friday evening, and there was already a queue forming as the restaurant was about to open. We were seated outside and there's a really lovely atmosphere with the other cafes in the square. We started with frittatine and arancini both of which were good. We then had pizzas x 2, the prima burger and the country rigatoni x 2. The children enjoyed the pizza, the burger was fine, but the pasta lacked flavour. Portion sizes are good but it was missing something. The servers were very busy and we ended up not getting dessert. We paid the bill online as it was easier than waiting for a server to come to us. I was probably slightly disappointed because I expected so much more having read the reviews, but it...
