Bellacitta — Restaurant in Tours

I am a tricky customer and usually disappointed but this restaurant is fantastic in so many aspects we only tried the pizza which was great but maybe a little on the sad side of chewy for the base but not enough to make me change my mind. The pasta dishes I saw coming out looked wonderful, just the right amount and well covered with the sauce. For me to be able to rate a restaurant like this it all comes down to the coffee nothing like a bad coffee to ruin the whole meal. Not the case here possibly the most delicious coffee I've had in a long long time....

We were looking for a restaurant after a 580 mile drive from Spain, it was Sunday night and the hotel restaurant was closed. We were accompanied by our two small dogs who were welcomed with a smile. Neither of us speak French but the staff were extremely helpful with translating and recommendations. The pizza was amongst the best I have ever had ( and I’ve had quite a few around the world ), their prawn pasta was excellent and desert was fab. If we’re visiting Tours again next year, we will make a point of revisiting....

We went there at 8pm on a Saturday evening without a reservation and it was very busy so they could only offer an outside table but it was a warm evening so that was fine. The menu is typical Italian and prices are reasonable. I would say the food is average quality although my wife could not eat the Carbonara she ordered, it was like a congealed mass of pasta with undercooked bacon on top. We did make the point to them it wasn't very nice and witnessed at least one other person...
