Read moreUnfortunately, this was a very disappointing experience for us. We decided to eat here because, as we were walking by, we noticed that it was very pleasant, with a beautiful terrace. The 4.1 out of 5 rating gave us hope. We seriously wonder how this restaurant got such a good rating. When we arrived at the time of our reservation, we received a somewhat cold and distant welcome. After being shown to our table, we had to wait 20 minutes for the menu. It was rather unclear; there were no prices per glass of wine listed anywhere, even though it turned out this was possible. I ordered the salmon fillet, which was okay. However, my boyfriend's entrecote steak was very disappointing. The steak wasn't cooked as requested and tasted completely unpleasant. The fries that came with it weren't crispy, and there was only some lettuce and a small container of something that resembled mayonnaise. A very disappointing plate. The lettuce was actually the best thing on the plate. While eating, we noticed that the tables on the beautiful terrace were awkwardly packed together. The waiters kept brushing past us, and we had to keep tucking our elbows in to avoid collisions. We twice mentioned that the steak was bad and that we weren't satisfied, but beyond a dry "sorry," nothing was done to compensate. It was a waste of money; it really wasn't worth it. The service could also be much more welcoming and friendly. To anyone planning to eat here, I have some excellent advice: cross the street and eat at Octave. It's a world of difference, both in service and food! Octave is our...
Read moreGood interior and ambience... very good wine list, good house champagnes, very good bread and fish pate on all tables, short menu. A poor welcome on this Tuesday, and the manager clearly wasn’t interested in the clients. Shown to our table and then left alone for over 15 minutes, no-one offered to take our drinks order. First courses arrived, terrine was fine but the tomato & mozarella salad had been drowned in balsamic (really drowned, the tomatoes were submerged) - when we caught the manager’s eye he came over, looked at the dish and just brought a plate so we could pour off the excess balsamic. When we called our table waiter, however, he took one look at the dish, apologised and took it away and brought a fresh tomato salad which was perfect. Main courses - one fish dish which was ok if a little bland, but the lamb shank had clearly spent far too long under the lamps, and most of the meat had gone so hard it was uneatable. No garnish on any of the dishes, so the mains looked very unappetising. At no time did anyone came to our table to ask if we were happy, or if we needed anything else.. Our waiter explained that the head chef was off that night. Conclusion: don’t go on a Tuesday, and don’t expect...
