Les Toqués — Restaurant in Versailles

I will travel to Versailles just to eat here! Thank you for having us for an hour even though you had a full reservation.

Atmosphere, a cozy setting with less than 6 round tables. Lighting and setup was lightly romantic and very comfortable.

Service was fantastic as both the chef and server always made sure we were alright and enjoying ourselves.

For food, the restaurant does not have an extensive menu but everything was done very well! We had the burrata salad, rosemary focaccia, La Queen pizza and beef meatball pasta. They sourced some really sweet tomatoes for the salad and we thoroughly enjoyed it. For the pizza base, it was more bread-like than the usual thin/standard crust that we’re used to. Nonetheless, it tasted pretty good. No surprise, of course the focaccia was done well too to pair with the burrata. We did enjoy the rest more than the meatball pasta but this is a personal preference.

We almost missed the place. That's how small it is. And when we entered and saw only 3 tables, we were a bit apprehensive. But once we saw the menu we felt a bit better. And once the food came, you forget all about the tiny space and how disrupting the busy food delivery platform traffic is. We had the rosemary focaccia which was not bad but not exactly what you'd expect from a focaccia. For the mains we had the Gnocci au Gorgonzola and the Truffle Burger which were delicious. The sweet potato fries were a nice change to the regular French Fries. For dessert we had the tiramisu which was not bad but also could have been better as it seemed to be full of cream instead of mascarpone. The only thing missing was the availability of fresh bread. Not just an ordinary grocery + take away. It looked small from the outside, with only four small tables (two outside and two inside) but they are very serious with the food! Their truffle dishes are very tasty it leaves truffly aftertaste even after a few hours. I had a truffle gnocchi which used high quality ingredients, with fresh gnocchi and homemade truffle sauce which is also sold by the shop. The truffle burger is...
