The first couple of times we came when the restaurant was closed, there was no information about it in Google. On the 4th time we arrived a little later than half past ten, it turned out that the kitchen was already closed. This was reported to us by an employee who was sitting at the entrance. At the same time , she did not say hello and said in a not particularly polite tone: "And where are you going? We're actually already closed."
When I finally managed to get into the institution for the first time, I more or less liked everything. The cuisine is not authentic, but the portions are large. The noodle soup looked like all the ingredients had just been stuffed in there without taking care of the serving. But we were served by a very cool waiter.
The second time it was worse. The waitress was forgetful. There was not enough soy sauce in the rice, and the seafood filling seemed to be not the first freshness. I ordered soup with peas. As it turned out, all soups have one rather mediocre base with soy sauce. If you order a non-spicy dish, it turns out that it does not have any special taste.
In addition to this, employees were sitting near the entrance on the street, some of them were talking loudly and swearing obscenities. The impression is not particularly pleasant, I'm unlikely...
Read moreAs soon as I walked into Uncle Feng's, I knew I had walked into an authentic Chinese restaurant from the heavenly smells of the food. And I should know because I am Chinese. I really liked the menu. It has tofu, which you don't always find in menus of restaurants in Central Asia/Europe. And they have a wholegrain version of fried rice for diabetics and those on a low glycemic index diet - fried buckwheat. We ended up ordering the fried buckwheat along with eggplants fried with pork. We were offered the option of making the eggplants spicy, which is the way they make it in Sichuan, which we happily took. The food was soooo goooood!! The portions were also very large. The best part is that the prices were on the lower side for Batumi. An English menu is available here and the staff also speak English. Do remember to bring cash because cards are not...
Read moreWe ordered the salt ‘n’ pepper tofu, fried eggplant with garlic (my favorite dish), kung pao chicken (which they kindly substituted with tofu), and a non-alcoholic mojito (very good!). We’re big fans of Chinese food, and unfortunately, the dishes didn’t feel truly authentic to us. Another downside was that the printed menu was replaced by a digital one which no longer labeled the vegan options, so ordering wasn’t as smooth. Even so, the service was great, the dishes arrived quickly, the portions were generous, and we were happy to find these vegan options in Batumi. Overall, it was a...
