Never have I been somewhere with staff so rude and unhappy to serve the customer. As a British tourist on our Christmas Day morning what a bad way to start the day. Definitely would avoid.
Update for owner.
Upon arrival at the cafe we entered and we’re told we would have to sit outside as the inside was full, not a problem by the way so we sat down outside awaiting some menus or a waiter/waitress to come and take our order. After waiting and having no one come to take our orders my partner went inside to ask for some coffees. These arrived at this point it was quite chilly as we had been sat outside for about 15 minutes or so, we weren’t asked if we would like the outside heater above our table turned on when other people sat outside had the ones next too them on. We then went back inside to ask for food service this is when the service became really rather poor indeed, a tall dark haired waiter came outside to take our order, we wanted to ask his recommendation as we are not Georgians and wanted to try the local cuisine but had some questions regarding the types of cheeses, his response was ‘are you ready to order or not’ rather than offering helpful suggestions he was rather confrontational and brass, we quickly picked something as he seemed unlikely to offer any help. After he took our order we asked if the heater could be turned on to which he replied he couldn’t turn it on as he didn’t have the controller, surprised by that as other tables that had customers had theres turned on I felt as though it was a personal choice by him to not do it as we had wasted a minute of his time coming in and asking for someone to take our food order and not having the order ready the instant he arrived at our table (as mentioned earlier because we wanted some information on the dishes). If that heater wasn’t working surly the good customer service option would be to offer to move us to another one of the empty tables outside and turn the heater on at that table? After feeling rather uncomfortable with the attitude taken with us i walked inside a few seconds after him I asked for the order of food to be cancelled paid for the coffees we had drank and left to eat elsewhere. I hope my detail helps you improve the customer experience, i left feeling rather upset as did my partner and to be honest if it hadn’t of been Christmas morning for us as I mentioned in the original comment I’d of spoken to the management on the day but I wasn’t going to deal with educating a waiter on good manners while trying to...
Read moreThis place is AMAZING, PERIOD. Every single dish I've ordered here was great. They have a unique approach to Georgian cuisine, with a special touch in each plate.
I had to return two times to try as many dishes as I could here. Kudos for the chef working here. I wish I had taken more photos of the food but I didn't.
However here is a list of what I've tried:
All Kachapuris are great and unique, especially the Blackcharuli, the seafood in it was clean and well cooked. The spinach kachapuri was fresh and fragrant. The 4 cheese had a depth of flavour. The Shqmeruli was also great.
I had little expectations for the Georgian Plate but when it arrived, I was beyond surprised. Everything was fresh and well presented. The Peppers with walnut sauce was especially unique and tastefull. The cheeses and Sesame cheese was also un expectedly good. Its a good starter of you're with a group of friends.
Borscht Soup, I dint even know how to describe it. The entire plate was carefully designed to give you an experience. Alongside its included brandy shor, sour cream and ham tapas. It was perfect. This alone for me could be considered a Main plate.
Schnitzel was also good, pretty standard but rich and nice.
The ojakhuri was amazing, highly recommended as well.
Overall, my experiences here were super positive and can't wait to visit the place again and try what else they have...
