YOKO — Restaurant in Tbilisi

I ordered a California roll (because I like tobiko caviar sprinkled on it). On the menu they were pictured with a generous amount of this caviar. When they brought the order, for some reason the salad was piled on top of the rolls, and not on the side, as it was in the picture on the menu. Having fought my way through the jungle, I discovered that the rolls were half bald, without tobiko, and also covered in a sauce like mayonnaise (it was also not in the picture on the menu). I was upset, the chef said "we do not put a lot of tobiko because not all of our customers like it." To my argument that the dish should probably look like on the menu and have the same ingredients, I was left without an answer. In the end, I did not try the rolls, perhaps they were tasty, but in any case the taste would have been different if there was a lack of the key ingredient. When ordering, I recommend specifying that you need to get the food as in the picture, and not as other customers like it. But on the plus side, I can note that there is a very polite and pleasant waiter, a nice atmosphere and fast preparation...

“Today I visited one of my favorite places in Vake, called ‘Kitayka.’ But you know, everything changes over time, and this place has changed too. What used to be a polite and courteous staff has been replaced by some rude individuals. They served us cold food, and when we mentioned it, they started explaining that we were wrong, saying we should have mentioned it right away. We didn’t have any issues with the quality of the food, as we were in a hurry, but we wanted them to take this into account for the future. In response, we heard a lot of unpleasant things about ourselves, and the employee NINO was literally shouting and attacking us. No physical altercation, but it felt really terrible.

To the management and owners of the establishment, I highly recommend paying attention to these employees and bringing things back to how they used to be, because until you change them, my friends and I won’t be coming back.
