Kanpai Sushi — Restaurant in Aachen

Booked a reservation here on January 19. It was a dissappointing experience from start to finish. When entering the restaurant we were friendly greeted and pointed upstairs to go to table 7. When we headed upstairs, there were no numbers on the tables. So I picked a free table by the window for two person. After a while we got a menu, the menus were dirty with food sticking inbetween the menus. I ordered the Dream Team Deluxe, 52 pieces. We waited a while which is fine with me if the chef put in work but when it arrived, it looked boring. Many pieces simply filled with cucumber, or too large pieces with salmon. There was no variation and overall was the food bland and boring, also the pieces were not properly cut. It gave the appereance they were looking to be cost effective than producing quality pieces. Which I find confusing for being the number 1 rated place on TripAdvisor. The waiter was friendly but unfortunately slow and clearly inexperienced, having forgotten me once (after I friendly waved and talked to her, she then started taking orders from other tables which didn't even ask for her) and taking forever to bring me my simple order of 1 sparkling water which I ordered at the start of our meal and received at the end.

We will not be returning back, it was definitely not worth the trip. Also while making the reservation I announced it was for my girlfriends birthday but they didn't really bother to do...

Yesterday evening I had a sushi diner at the running together with my little daughter. What was indeed an experience to sit and see passing by al these little pieces of food on the running. We missed any way of client friendliness. We were be seated (no reservation). There was no explanation how the formula of the running works. There was nobody of the waiters who came to check if we were satisfied or needed something else, a drink, wasabi or ginger. One of the two sushi chefs, the senior one, looked one time friendly to us but that was all. When we wanted to go, a waitress came and took all the plates. She said, come to the cashier please.
