Freshly handmade dumplings with a variety of flavours! Whether you're vegetarian/vegan, like seafood or prefer classics - this is it. It's cheaper to go for the 6 pieces so I recommend to order different types (in total 10 flavours) and share! Much more fun this way ;) you can create a sauce of your liking and refill as much as you want - very much liked the birthday sauce and ginger sauce. The red chicken and red beef (new on their specials menu) dumplings are super delicious! Considering they are preparing them with fresh and high quality ingredients, the price is very affordable - also a little cheaper for lunch. Get some edamame to share as well while waiting for the food to be served. The place itself is a little small and easily crowded if busy but in general clean. The service brings the ordered food and tea, cold drinks need to be taken yourself as well as the cutlery. Very disappointing experience. The place is supposed to close at 10pm. We reach at 9 and are told that apparently on “some” days, if there’s no one at the restaurant by 8:30, they only allow takeaways since apparently it’s pricier to sit people down, which…how?! No one knows. And apparently it’s “not always like this”, which, how convenient. To compensate we were given a Gutschein of a dessert, which you can only select out of two set options, provided you spend above 50€, and as someone who doesn’t spend more than 35€ on average there, I’m sure you can imagine how helpful that is. For someone looking forward to a nice, warm meal after a long day, this was deeply disappointing and seemed more like an excuse for those present there to close up shop early. Meine Frau und ich waren letzten Wochenende dort zu Besuch, da ich im Internet einen Gutschein gekauft hatte für eine Portion Dumplings und Schneebällchen zum Nachtisch. Erst einmal wären wir wohl ohne den Gutschein nie dort hin gekommen, da es in einer Ecke von Aachen liegt, wo wir bisher noch nicht vorbei gekommen sind. Aber es hat sich absolut gelohnt! Die Einrichtung ist sehr schlicht gehalten, was uns aber sehr gefallen hat! Die Karte ist recht übersichtlich: es gibt 3 verschiedene Arten Dumplings mit Fleisch, 3 verschiedene vegetarische und dann noch 2 "Spezial" Varianten. Außerdem 2 verschiedene Desserts. Zu den Dumplings kann man sich, je nach Portionsgröße, eine oder mehrere Soßen aussuchen (es gibt 4 verschiedene zur Auswahl). Bestellen muss man an der Kasse und das Essen wird dann zum Tisch gebracht. Die Dumplings werden anscheinend komplett frisch zubereitet und dann im Bambusdämpfer serviert. Wir hatten eine Portion mit Hähnschenfleisch und eine vegetarische Portion. Beide waren sehr lecker, wobei mir die Variante mit Fleisch etwas besser geschmeckt hat und meiner Frau die vegetarische ;-) Als Nachspeise gab es "Schneebällchen", das sind mit rotem Bohnenmus Reiskuchen. Auch diese waren super lecker, wobei ich es bisher noch nicht kannte, dass die Bällchen in einer Schüssel mit Wasser angerichtet werden.

Alles in allem ist das MeiWei absolut einen Besuch wert! Wir werden dort auf jeden Fall wieder essen gehen!
