Ali Baba — Restaurant in Berlin

Are you team Wrap or Plate?⠀ .⠀ The other day I finally introduced my sister to Arabic food at Alibaba. Ali Baba is known for its high quality ingredients and small prices and we were sooooo full afterwards and had to roll home! So it was a great sucess! 😁⠀ ⠀ She loved her Schawarma (3,50€) and I got an equally tasty ALIBABA mixed plate (8,50€) that offers you a colorful variety of everything. I especially enjoyed the creamy hummus, spiced sausages and flavourful köfte. 😜 Only the chicken was too dry. 😅⠀ ⠀⠀ Do you prefer the wrap or plate form at arabic food places like this???😳⠀ ⠀ I usually get and prefer the wrap form since it is even more affordable and more compact to eat. 😯 I ended up stuffing the contents of my plate into my flat bread and turning it into a wrap anyway. 🤪 I just like to get a mouthful bite of different ingredients in general. Plus, I find the portion size almost similar but the wrap is half the price.🤑⠀ ⠀ Personally I would order the plate to share with someone when the focus is to eat slow and converse and if I wanted to try out the different ingredients separately. 😃⠀⠀ ⠀⠀

So, I found a good deal in Uber Eats saying 1+1 for a burger. It was around 10€ for two burgers.

The real cool thing - they have different buns. I tried the black one...

When the burgers arrived, they looked really like on the picture. 5 stars

The taste was just wonderful, even on a second day warming this boi in a microwave, taste was outstanding. 7 stars out of 5

But... after some time, like 3h or so, I unexpectedly went to the toilet... this was a black mess coming out of me, like a lava, but completely black. The same happened to me on the next day. Result - it was very tasty, but for 3 days, I got some kind of diarrhea with black madness coming out of me.

I probably will try these burgers again, but with normal bread. Can only imagine what would happen from a rote bete bun...

So, generally, it was really tasty, but with consequences. There is no photo to this review. I just believe they looked...

Had a truly absurd experience here a few months ago when we ordered on deliveroo. We've eaten in here many times and those times have been truly excellent. However when we ordered on deliveroo and truly strange situation unfolded. We ordered 4 sandwiches with drinks, all a little different from the other. When they arrived we were presented with a truly massive bag of food and what was inside was 9 sandwiches and 8 Ayrans. Have absolutely no idea how or why. None of them were clearly labelled to explain what was what, none were particularly spicy, none were particularly great. I'm not sure what happened but it definitely wasn't as good of an experience as eating in normally is, massive drop in quality. Normally I wouldn't complain about extra food but this was bizarre. I wouldn't order delivery again but I'll most likely be back to visit the restaurant on my next...
