I ordered the Golden Fried Boneless Chicken with the Secret Sauce and Honey Garlic, along with the Rosé Tteokbokki. At first I was very excited to hear that BBQ Chicken finally opened in Berlin. I lived in Korea for a few years and was really excited to try it here, but I must say I'm quite disappointed. The chicken by itself is very yummy and tastes similar to the one in Korea, and the delivery was fast so it stayed crispy and juicy! But I feel like the ratios in the sauces are a bit off compared to the ones in korea (so I keep wondering is it because I ordered the sauces separately?) but nevertheless tasty. But the biggest disappointment was the Rose Tteokbokki (which honestly tasted like some kind of pasta dish). I feel like it has nothing to do with Tteokbokki, the bell pepper/paprika and mushrooms completely ruin the taste and I gotta be frank, are not supposed to be there at all. Tteokbokki is usually the rice cakes, the sauce, green onions and additional add ons like cabbage, sausage and cheese. I don't think you can call this dish Tteokbokki if the taste is completely different and for that price, I'm really disappointed.
Also, sadly you don't offer chicken with bones, such as drumsticks etc. as this is even tastier! And it doesn't really compare to small wings.
I'm open to try this again if some of the menu items are improved a bit, but for now I wouldn't eat here/order...
Read moreBest Korean fried chicken in Berlin -hands down- PERIOD. It tastes exactly like the bb-q chicken chain in S. Korea. ( Our go-to favorite when in S. Korea btw.) Ordered the 8 piece golden fried chicken to go ( 15.50 euros- perfectly fair-pricing) and it did not disappoint. Even after two hours, the crispiness, texture, juiciness, taste maintained itself perfectly thanks to the packaging. Even after the transport time and sitting around, it maintained its crispiness on the outside -juiciness in the inside- didn’t even need to reheat as it still maintained some of it’s warmth (what magic sorcery is involved, I do not know:)) . Only a small lil caveat, the chicken mu- charging 4 euros and it not being complimentary side with the chicken order, is a bit of a letdown. I understand it’s a different market- but as a Korean, use to the bb-q chicken ways in Korea ( both delivery and in-store dining) , it bothers me and hope that eventually it might become complimentary, upon request. But even with that, I highly highly recommend-especially if Berliners want to experience true authentic Korean fried chicken just like it is in S. Korea. The space is really nice with both indoor and outdoor seating. Staff was very nice and friendly. I am ecstatic that it entered the German market and found its way to Berlin. Will definitely patronize...
Read moreThis was the FIRST TIME I saw a Korean fried chicken restaurant in Berlin offering the cheese powder version, so I knew I had to try. Usually, i frequent another small korean fried chicken business with a female owner. And it did not disappoint! The powder on the cheesling is so addictive. Really, really delicious!! In fact, i think this is the only flavour i will go for next time. And I will probably order it with extra cheese powder topping. I wouldn't recommend Jamaican jerk if you've had real Jamaican jerk chicken before:) we had boneless and the chicken was very tender and juicy, and even though i ate it cold afterwards straight from the refridgerator it was still so delicious... I hope the cheese flavour becomes popular and stays on the menu till my next visit🙏🏼 my five stars is only for the cheesling!...
