We came here for lunch after hearing about this place from a friend. The food was incredibly tasty, fresh and aromatic. First, it is spicy! And that's a good thing - it is not European spicy, it is authenticly nose-sweating sinuses-clearing forehead-wiping hot that leaves you glowing like you just had a facial kind of spicy. We had a starter of pepper leaf rolls and then green chicken curry and panaeng pork curry, all amazing and each tasted unique and individual. Here I must say the meat could be more tender (maybe smaller pieces would work better, otherwise it needs longer cooking time - for curry this tasty the meat is too chewy). The starter was a complete taste explosion, unexpected and delicious. I don't mind the self service, portion sizes or the prices. We came very hungry and had a utter taste adventure of one starter, two curries and two Thai teas for 40 euros for 2 people which is a little steep in theory but was worth every penny in quality and taste. I liked how the food was presented, curry and rice came separately and there are small plates available that makes sharing food easy. I am looking forward to eating through the whole menu! I am so very happy there is finally a very original authentic restaurant in the Kiez that is Not serving just another umbrella term "asian" generic curry with carrots or broccoli and sushi and poke and 100 other things on a menu that is so long you get a new grey hair if you try to read it all. Standing applause, Hanuman Thai Curry House, you brought joy to my heart (stomach)...
Read moreNever disappoints, always a pleasure. Seriously, normally I’d rather stay away from „influencer“ tips since most, not all tho, are bought, fake or simply not up to my expectations. I’ve seen this one a couple of times in various ads with videos and pictures of the dishes - all stunning. And they’re as delicious as they look. My choice is the cabbage dish plus green curry with the cucumber salad/pork crispy belly as a small side, on some days they’re maybe a bit too small but delicious as always. Very thrilled for upcoming new recipes as they change with time. Cashiers and staff is very nice with the order and pickup process, they smile all day and it’s so contagious :) The inside restaurant is clean, light but kept more simple with the style of a regular smash-burger place like Goldie’s, not much Thai influence. Still always clean and tables prepared for guests ready to enjoy a meal. People literally line up 20min before opening hour, have a seat outside and kill time with a cigarette, and honestly I’m one of them. I see why. Give it a try, for me it’s a...
Read moreParty of two, We went for a light meal and ordered the green curry chicken , Thai ice tea and Miang Kam as the appetizer to share between the two of us. The Thai ice tea was received first. Having had it at many places, I know it’s a sweet drink and expected a certain level of sweetness. Unfortunately, this was beyond drinkable pleasant sweetness. We had to dilute it with ~600 ml of water to make it tolerable and even then it was still sweet. Then the food- just like the Thai ice tea, it was loaded up with sugar- It was inedible. We had few spoons of the curry with rice and left more than 2/3 of the dish. The Miang kam that comes as three pieces, we each had one and left the third one uneaten as it was also overwhelmingly offensively sweet. Pity, underneath the cloyingly mind numbing sweetness, I think there are some potentially good complex Thai flavors ( spiciness, umami, sourness, bitterness freshness) but you can’t really get past the outrageous sweetness, when the level makes the food/drink inedible. Unfortunately will not...
