Bella Italia — Restaurant in Berlin

We were in the area of Bayerischer Platz and since I was looking to get a quick bite, we decided to get a pizza to go at "Bella Italia" since a short look at google maps revealed a pretty good rating - after all, how bad can Pizza be, really? Turns out, pretty bad. Once we made it past the aggressive dog sitting on the restaurant's front porch like some sort of tiny cerberus, we were greeted by an interior decoration that was probably conceived in the 80s and never (re-) touched to this day. At this point, I seriously considered turning around, but alas, it was too late - my girlfriend had already spoken to the waiter who handed us the menus. I chose a very simple option - Pizza Margherite with fresh rocket salad, and the waiter took the order (but not without trying to convince me to order a different pizza with meat for some reason). At this point I saw that all the other patrons were at least in their late fifties and dressed quite sloppily, and my sense of impending culinary doom deepened. After about 15 minutes (that felt impossibly long, probably due to the cheesy italian music playing in the background), we got the pizza in a stereotypical paper box - but the box was suspiciously small. We left the restaurant in a hurry - I was glad that we had gotten that over with. Once outside, I opened the box and found my suspicions confirmed - this was one of the worst pizzas I had ever seen, it looked like the sort of pizza the kebab guy next door would produce, but somehow even worse. It was dry, the cheese was bitter, the sugo completely flavorless. I could barely finish half of it, despite being very hungry. The rest landed in the trashcan near the restaurant. I'm actually kind of impressed by how bad this was. There is a saying about pizza - "Even if it's bad, it's still pretty good". They managed to break that rule. Truly a feat to behold. Schade! Ich war heute das zweite Mal im Bella Italia essen. Beim ersen Mal war ich mit einer Freundin da und wir waren beide über die Unverschämtheit des Personals, als wir unsere Rechnung getrennt bezahlen wollten, erschrocken. Kritik ist dort vor Ort nicht angebracht egal um was es geht. Ich war so entäuscht, das ich nie wieder dort essen gehen wollte. Heute doch die zweite Chance und große Lust auf eine Pizza, am liebsten Pizza Diavolo, was Sie leider nicht im Angebot hatten. Dann die Pizza Mista mit Peperoni für 5,80 €, Apfelschorle für 3,20 €. Diese Pizza hätte ich mir zu Hause besser selbst vom Tiefkühlschrank aufgetaut und von Pizza Wagner gegessen. In einer Pizzeria, die sich noch Bella Italia nennt, eine Tiefkühlpizza geht gar nicht :-( Der Kellner (BED.4) verstand kein Wort oder wollte nicht verstehen, als ich sagte, schade Tiefkühlpizza. Ich hätte gerne lieber mehr bezahlt, dafür aber eine frische mit selbst gemachtem Teig gegessen. Nie wieder Bella Italia bekommt von mir 1 Stern für die...

Ein nettes kleines schon lang ansässiges italienisches Ristorante am schönen Bayrischen Platz gelegen. Man kann nett draußen sitzen. Die Bedienung ist nett und freundlich, aufmerksam auch wenn es eher die Ruhe weg hat - was Wartezeit angeht - aber alles im Grünen Bereich.

Wir hatten jeder eine kleine Vorspeise, Salat und Bruschetta. Zwei Bruschetta gibt es eh als Aperitif vorab, somit hatte man 6 gesamt.

Getränke und Essenspreise sind voll kommen in Ordnung und den Speisen angemessen.

Als Hauptspeise gab es Bandnudeln s. Bild, sehr lecker muss ich sagen. Hätte ich zu Hause nicht besser hingekriegt. Die Größe super ausreichend.

Der Gatte hatte Tintenfischringe in Tomaten Knoblauch Soße, klein, fein aber sehr lecker. Einen kleinen Salat gab es noch vorab.

Somit sagen wir, für einen kleinen netten Abend, mit soliden guten Speisen zu guten Preisen ist es eine tolle, jahrelang bekannte Adresse.
