At this particular location I found 3 accessible customer options for plugging in my laptop near a seat and table compared to McDonals`s on HermannPlatz which has 4. Brot & Brötchen also has no cost toilets for the customers and near the hour of closing many baked and other food items items are discounted %50. For ambience, the view of HermannStrasse UBoddinPlatz landing and stopped light traffic intersection is spectacular. After dining you can go on a shopping spree at Euro Shop 1,10 on the opposite corner. This place is a real gem and you won't meet anyone interesting here, ever. On several occasions I used the microwave oven which is located on a self service counter being the cashier and before the sitting area. For example; to heat a pizza, pizza surprise, or pasta (take it out of the clear plastic cup and carefully transfer the pasta or couscous onto a ceramic plate from the stack near the microwave oven. The timer is sort of preset with a bunch of tape stopping it at 30 seconds. You will need to remember how many times you run your food through a 30 second cycle. Once I even tried to microwave the raw looking ground meat sold on half of a Kaiser roll or schrippe on occasion. With exception of the texture, smell, and temperature it did not change much after 2 cycles. I'm not sure if the meat is meant to be microwaved but no one stopped me which encouraged me to microwave other items like cheese or salami & cheese n schrippe first removing any other items included such as tomato, cucumber or lettuce. There are far too many microwaveable combinations to mention and it is best to suit your own taste. Experimenting was not exactly discouraged although a few items can quickly change the scenario within the oven. Pasta was perhaps the most noticeable. I didn't try to microwave the tuna & corn sandwich on multi seeded baguette. One can only imagine the outcome...
Read moreAnyone giving this place more than 2 stars has probably never a) left Neukolln b) been to a bakery. The selection of Brots and Brotchens is simply offensive. Reheated croissants (for over 1EUR!) vulgar rolls with that old melted cheese on top, sandwiches full of mayo/schnitzel and unimpressive "cakes". The only good thing is the fresh orange juice squeezer but beware - it's usually out of order or out of oranges. Of course, one cannot pay by card (not that I'm surprised, having lived in this country for a while now) and the cleanliness level is much below my standards. Last but not least - Brot und Brötchen occupies a significant amount of space with their extremely ugly tables and chairs outside of their establishment, inviting their "clientele "to spend time time there and litter like only Neukolln people can. I hate you Brot...
Read moreThis quickly became our favorite breakfast spot during our stay in Berlin. The food is not only affordable but also fresh, delicious, and gives you that cozy, homemade feel. We tried a variety of sandwiches, croissants, and traditional German pastries, and honestly, we loved every single one of them. The staff didn’t interact with us much, so there’s not much to say on that front, but at least they weren’t rude. The seating area is quite big and comfortable. That aside, the food alone makes this place worth trying. I only wish I could come here every day for breakfast or a...
