Pizza Pause — Restaurant in Berlin

The place offers all kinds of pizza and pasta until late in the night. It's not the best pizza, but it's kind of okay. Don't expect a true Italian pizza, the guys are not Italian even if the place is designed like from an Espresso ad from the early 2000s.

I asked if they can prepare a vegan pizza as well. They offered me one for €5,50. Since they haven't one on their menu nor they have vegan cheese it was obvious it will come only with tomato sauce and some veggies. I told them which vegetable they shouldn't put on the pizza since I'm allergic and guess what - it came with exactly this one vegetable. So I asked them to exchange it and replace it with something different I can eat. They did take it back and gave me a 'new' pizza. They just took off the vegetable but didn't replace them with something different. And when I asked them about this they just became aggressive, what I want from them, argued like that they made me an offer and I should be thankful for this.

I never post reviews here but I think it’s important that everyone knows exactly the character of the man in this photo. After buying a slice of pizza here I kindly asked him if I could use the restroom. A friend of mine previously asked another worker if she could and he said yes. However, when I asked this man in the photo he immediately said “no”. I asked why because my friend was allowed to use it and he replied with “it’s closed”. What he meant was “it’s closed.. for you”. I was understanding despite being confused as to why and didn’t ask again. I paid and went outside to wait for my other friend to finish purchasing their pizza. The man then proceeded to taunt me through the window, making inappropriate facial and hand gestures at me. Honestly I was shocked. I had asked and treated this man with nothing but respect and he thought it would be somehow funny to degrade me in front of other customers. I immediately left and have felt horrible ever since. I used to like the pizza they serve, and I still do like it. However, the service has gotten bad during the last months and weeks. Today the guy working there was not able to remember what I ordered. The place was not crowded (it usually is crowded on weekends). I ordered three pieces to got. Another client ordered one piece, a few minutes after me. When I came home and opened my pizza box, I saw that one of the pieces I ordered was missing, and instead, as it appears, I got the piece that the other client ordered). That's bad. A few weeks ago a very young male person worked there. He did not even seem to be 18. When people ordered and he wasn't sure which kind of pizza they ordered, he did not only point at some piece and asked "This one?", he put his finger on it. He did it repeatedly. Then he took the pieces and placed them somewhere else before he put them in the oven. It all appeared rather unsanitary. It is not nice to go there any more,...
