Café Conni Island — Restaurant in Berlin

Auch wenn manche behaupten, die Bedienung in dem Café sei unhöflich und schnippisch – sie kennen Conni nicht! Conni ist eine wahre Kinderfreundin, und das „Connie Island“ ein echtes Kiez-Café, in dem sich viele Nachbarn treffen und austauschen. Solche Orte gibt es heutzutage nur noch selten. Ich habe selbst schon oft erlebt, wie Conni ihren Kuchen mit viel Liebe selbst backt, meist ein bis zwei Tage im Voraus. Das Einzige, was Conni und viele ihrer Gäste absolut nicht mögen, sind rücksichtslose Radfahrer*Innen, die trotz spielender Kinder oder Tiere auf dem Gehsteig dort entlangfahren. Conni versteht nicht, warum Fahrräder nicht einfach auf der Straße fahren, wo sie sogar erlaubt sind und niemanden behindern.

Ich liebe das „Conni Island“ Café. Der Kuchen ist vielleicht nicht so kunstvoll auf dem Teller angerichtet wie in einem schicken Café, aber dafür steckt jede Menge Herz darin. Cornelia is super nice and talkative host. Over 10 homemade cakes, extremely tasty, generous slice portions and great tea’s and coffees. Paid €12 for 2 cakes and 2 drinks.

Can sit outside in the sun and talk to the local residents, who all seem to come by to support conni in her little café.

Dog friendly as well!

What makes Bergmannkiez special! This beautiful little cafe is as much a community center as it is a cafe. It's a lovely way to meet people from the neighborhood and enjoy that delectable kuchen. Connie is a one woman show: a visual artist and a lovely baker and fantastic host introducing people to each other....
