Absolutely top quality schnitzel! This is one of the very few places where I prefer the veal schnitzel over the pork! We came on a warm day so were able to sit outside by the bike path. Note that you'll get lots of bikers zipping by during your meal if you opt for the outer row of tables! The service was friendly and recommended some dishes to my date when she struggled to order something different from my standard Schnitzel. Alas, she ultimately opted for the Schweineschnitzel and I got the Kalbschnitzel, both with Preiselbeeren of course. When the waiter brought it out, I was blown away by the portion size! I did opt for the large portion while my date got the small, but I didn't realize how large it would actually be! Very surprising, given the quality and price. Anyway, I gobbled the entire thing up because it was fantastic and was absolutely stuffed. However, I couldn't say no to my favorite dessert -- Kaiserschmarrn, which they make fresh so it takes around 20m to prepare. I will say that it wasn't my favorite take on the plum sauce, but I still shoveled it in and finished the whole thing. Overall, I'd definitely come back here for the top-tier food quality and maybe try some of their other entrees. Maybe I'll see you there....
Read moreThe food was really good and the overall dining experience could have been great, but unfortunately the way the bill was handled ruined it in the end.
When we asked for the check, we clearly told the waitress to round it up to €145 to include a tip. She first put €155 in the card machine, so we repeated that we wanted to pay €145, and she pretended to be confused — we even repeated it in English in case there was a language barrier, although we’d been speaking German with her all night. She then complained that the tip was “too small” and asked multiple times if we were sure, which was quite uncomfortable given that tipping should be voluntary.
In the end, she made it look like she entered the €145, but when we paid, it turned out to be €149. Instead of apologizing, she just laughed — which made it obvious that she’d been dishonest the whole time.
It’s a shame because the food really is worth trying, but this attitude completely destroys trust and leaves a bad last impression. With the prices they charge for the food it should be already more than enough — the tip should be a choice, not something you’re guilt-tripped or tricked into...
Read moreJust dont order from them. They are overwhelmed, confused and unprofessional. Not only did i get a completely different and wrong order but on top of that the Leberkäse Brötchen (not mine but I'll eat it since they abandoned it here) was sticking so hard to the paper napkin under it that some of the print (ink) went in to the bread and some paper bits were fused with it. Otherwise the Apfelstrudel which turned out to be Kaiserschmarrn was ok I guess but still not what i ordered... Called to get it fixed. Was told by a colleague that he will make sure to fix it. 10 minutes later still no answer. So i call again and some pretty rude, little german knowledge, guy answers and blames me for the mistake and basically tells me to ef off and deal with it via UberEats. Thanks for the free (yet wrong) food i guess... but you lost a customer before even gaining one... and all that for an very...
