I ordered a cake with handmade flowers a day before my birthday. It was one of the few available at that time. I rather wanted the chocolate one but I should have waited for 3 more days. The cake consisted of : génoise strawberry feeling vanilla cream. It costs in total 54 euros with the delivery. The disappointment was total. Nothing felt good the génoise was too dry to the point it will take out your tongue humidity. The strawberry feeling was nothing else but sugar jelly coloured in red. The vanilla butter cream felt like butter not flavoured. Nothing you can put on a bûche de Noël for Christmas. My guests felt obliged to eat a chunk of the cake but most of them didn't finished their piece. I remember the cakes you buy at thoeben for 7 euros felt better tbh. Before making it public I decided to contact them on Instagram and after a long discussion they eventually proposed me a 25 percent discount for the next order I will make with them. I obviously didn't order anything the incentive is quite small and given the first bad experience you can understand my aversion to try anything non free at barcomi's. They kept telling me it is partially my fault I should have had ordered the chocolate cake since I was more into chocolate. I had to repeat many times it was not available on their platform which apparently they don't know enough !!! Overall I was surprised by the poor level of professionalism. I live in the UK & recently ordered a birthday cake online from Barcomis, to be delivered to my daughter who is living in Berlin. I was so impressed & the whole process from start to finish was seamless. I had a lot of questions to ask before ordering & the live chat support was exceptional. Being non German speaking I needed to speak in English & every time I asked a question I received a reply almost immediately! My daughter is vegan & also has a nut allergy so I needed to be sure before ordering that this could be accommodated. Barcomis patiently answered all of my questions, including providing thorough allergen information, which gave me great peace of mind. They made the ordering experience effortless, even from another country. Barcomis were extremely helpful & bent over backwards to ensure that I was able to order the correct cake & that it could be delivered on the specific date & time that I required. On the day of delivery I received a message telling me that the driver was on his way & then again to say it had been delivered. The cake itself was beautiful & according to my daughter and her boyfriend it was delicious! The cake delivery was a complete surprise for her, making her day extra special. It also made me very happy especially as I was unable to be there in person for her birthday. I cannot thank Barcomis enough for all of their help & for delivering such a wonderful cake. I ordered a cake for a birthday. It came on time, but the cake was bruised and not pretty to look at any more. While I got replacements sent for the macarons that were damaged, the next day the Macarons were soggy, the berries already rotten. The cake itself tasted good, but I am happy the birthday girl was not too critical about the looks and the missing berries. Upon asking me for a review, I gave this exact summary and I was told that this was probably my mistake for not storing the cake correctly. I was also informed that this review would not be published on their site, because "not relevant for other customers - they would not be interested a cake or parts of it do not keep well". No wonder there are only 5 star reviews then on their site. I would not recommend ordering here, there is plenty of cheaper equally good options around Berlin.

As I can't reply on your comment, here some feedback A 5 euro voucher offer for a 100 euro cake that could not be presented for a birthday does not cover it. It's funny that you assume things, like not knowing how to store Macarons. By the way, the macarons you sent as replacement did not go bad by the next day, but the ones on the cake did. So it probably has more to do with them being on the cake. I find it hard to accept that you are the filter of reviews, and justify it by saying you will put the relevant information in and will only let the perfect ones...
