Café La Tienda — Restaurant in Berlin

I really wanted to like this sweet little owner-operated cafe. Wasn’t even put off by there being only one item on the menu (vege meal with the option if a schnitzel with it). Unfortunately a couple of things made it hard to enjoy the experience: the commercial radio chatter and the very loud conversation the owner had with another customer about football the whole time I was there; the not very tasty food (spicy potatoes were nice but the stuffed zucchini was rubbery and bland, the salad sinking in dressing); the lack of adherence to covid-measures (no check on vaccination status, no contact tracing, no masks used by...

I work just around the corner so this is a regular lunch place for me :) Always only two options: fleisch oder vegetarisch. Both have been delicious every time I go: full of flavour and always served with a delicious fresh salad. Great portions for cheap (around 11 euro). Everyday one vegetarian dish for 9€ and one or two meaty dish for 10€. The dishes come usually with some salad, are a solid portion, and vary everyday (though some come back pretty often). It is no gastronomie cuisine, but the dishes are quite good, though often too salty for my taste, and the owner is juste extremely nice and can adapt some for you (when you ask nicely ;)).
