Took myself on a solo date to Café MadaMe on a sunny Friday afternoon, and I have no regrets. There’s a lot of outdoor seating, and the indoor seating was solid as well. I had no issues at all with the service. I got myself Käsespätzle mit Salat and a Bionade for a grand total of €12.80 — definitely not the cheapest, but pretty reasonable, and I felt full after eating. I can’t believe I haven’t been here before!

This is definitely a locals spot. When I came, the owner was sitting on her laptop in the corner and Khruangbin was quietly playing. Very cozy. You can tell the food is made fresh and not frozen and heated. I sat for a couple hours and had a great plate of spinach lasagne with salad and coffee and peach cheesecake and I was so pleased with my lunch experience.

Das Café MadaMe ist DER Treffpunkt in der südlichen Friedrichstadt. Der Mittagstisch ist schnell und gut für die kurze Mittagspause geeignet. Gekocht wird alles selbst. Typisch ist deutsche Hausmannskost, selbst hergestellte Pasta und Ravioli! Die Maultaschen kommen aus einer kleinen Manufaktur aus dem Schwabenland. Großartig!

Es gibt immer vegetarische Speisen.

Die Kuchen und Torten sind hausgemacht und selbstredend köstlich. Diverse Kaffeesorten sind durchweg gut.

Die Weinauswahl ist überraschend gut, jedoch eher klein. Was angesichts des kleinen Ladens verständlich ist. Überragend ist die Sortenvielfalt beim Bier! Fassbier, Augustiner, Schneider Weißbiere, Bio und jede Menge BioLimo und was weiß Ich noch alles…

Der Laden hat einen einzigartigen Charme von Unvollkommenheit, Durcheinander und Stilmix. Das Personal ist durchweg nett und aufmerksam. Manchmal, eher abends sinkt die Aufmerksamkeit manchmal ab. Da muss selbst ordern.

Die Preise sind für die Speisen sehr preiswert. Eigentlich sogar zu gering für die Qualität. Die Getränkepreise sind marktüblich im unteren Mittelfeld.

Nicht unerwähnt sollte die innere Haltung sein. Nazis haben dort nichts zu suchen. Gute Gespräche kann man immer führen.
