We had a fantastic dining experience at Delhi 6 and I can highly recommend it to anyone looking for authentic Indian food with excellent service.
I ordered the Delhi 6 Special Non-Veg Thali, but since I don’t eat lamb, I asked if it was possible to make a change. To my surprise and delight, the staff immediately accommodated my request and replaced the lamb with chicken. This thoughtful gesture really stood out and made me feel very welcomed. My friend went for the Veg Thali, and both of us were impressed with the presentation and variety of dishes. Each small bowl had its own unique flavor, from creamy curries to spiced vegetables, and everything tasted fresh and authentic. The naan was soft and warm, the rice perfectly cooked, and even the side items like pickles, salad, and chutneys added so much to the overall experience.
For drinks, I tried the watermelon mojito (alcohol-free), which was light, refreshing, and beautifully balanced. My friend had the classic mojito, which was nice but more on the standard side, similar to what you would find in other restaurants.
What really made the evening special, apart from the food, was the hospitality of the staff. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and genuinely caring. Small touches like checking if we were enjoying our meal and making sure everything was to our liking made a big difference.
The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, with beautifully presented thalis that make the whole dining experience feel special. It’s the kind of place where you not only enjoy a good meal but also feel valued as a guest.
Overall, Delhi 6 delivers on both authentic taste and warm service. We left very satisfied and happy, and I’m already looking forward to coming back. A true gem for Indian...
Read moreSo it was a Sunday afternoon we visited this restaurant after a long search for the best Indian food in Berlin and just based on the review we thought to visit this restaurant and as soon as went inside they directly redirected us to the semi outdoor way.. the temperature was almost 32°..we thought ok may be we might get some fresh air.. and we settled.. immediately they took our order and we asked for veg receipe which is kadai panner and especially requested them to increase the spice level for the curry as we indians can tolerate the highest of it.. and they made a special note of it too and told they will convey the same in kitchen.. when the food arrived it was not hot and it was not spicey at all.. atleast out of courtesy they did not ask us if we liked or did not Ask if the spice level is fine with us..the cola served was not at all cold and medium warm and as it was already sunny outside we thought that might be the reason.. but there is no minimum respect or way of dealing with indian customers..especially.. felt like the most of the staff working on that day were busy impressing Germans but not at all understanding the request of indian customers.. the windows were open in the outdoor sitting and there were flies, bees coming up near the tables and they did not even allow people to sit inside the restaurant not sure of the reason but this is one of the disastrous experience and the food is not worth of what they are charging.. just a hype restaurant never ever go just by ratings.. especially to this one.. very unhappy with the service and we did not feel like having a full fledged...
Read moreI ordered a lamb dish. As I am eating the lamb, I realize that I am not eating lamb. It's pork or chicken or something else. Definitely not lamb.(NOTE: I buy a whole lamb every 9 or 10 months for my family...I know lamb and I know I was not eating lamb)
I explain this to the server. She assures me that it is lamb and that Americans don't know that there is a difference between European and North American lamb.
I tell her again that what I was served isn't lamb. She again tells me that I am eating lamb. I respond with "if this is lamb, then I am the King of England".
She triples down, again saying it's lamb, but that it's a special "Berlin Lamb", that tastes much different than the American lamb that I have been eating for decades.
"Berlin Lamb?" I respond in mock amazement. "I am eating Berlin Lamb?" in my most incredulous tone. I then asked to speak with the restaurant manager.
She leaves our table and basically sends my wife and I to Coventry. We had no contact with her for the rest of dinner. Even after attempting to wave her over to find out more about this new species of livestock and to find out when the manager would deign us with their presence, she ignored our table.
I finished my pork or chicken or something else curry, left 30€ in cash on the table (my wife insisted that we pay, I wanted to get the meal price waived) and we left.
If you want "Berlin Lamb" and a server who will repeatedly lie to you, this will be a fantastic experience. Otherwise, you can do a lot better than this in a city like Berlin. Not...
