Edit after owners response: no, this isn’t my hair because I don’t have black hair. And yes, this is solely about the food you’re offering. As an Arab I can say that maybe you shouldn’t offer food that you obviously do not know how to prepare because you did not grow up with this food. It’s a shame to our world class cuisine that you sell this as Arab food.
If you want to know what good hommos would be like I recommend you to try the Abu Julia recipe on YouTube or a similar recipe and I’ll be your best customer. The same channel also has a recipe for manakish and you will see that your dough is more like pizza dough whereas manakish dough should be softer. If you sell this food in Amman, Yafa, Ramallah, Beirut, Damaskus you will go bankrupt immediately.
الأكل مش زي بالبلاد… طعم الحمص غلط وليش حاطين جوز وسلطة مش فاهم… بعدين وصل الحمص بدون خبز ولقينا شعر بالأكل
Unfortunately the taste isn’t authentic, the hommos just doesn’t taste good like in the famous places in Neukölln, and I don’t understand why they put salad and walnut on top of the hommos? Also, we didn’t get bread, and we found a hair baked into one of...
Read moreBefore coming to Milchgesicht, I have read the reviews. Some people complained about the staff being rude—they weren’t. They were actually serving in the classical Berlin style and we did not notice anything unfriendly here. It was quite calm and I was honestly quite happy not having lots of crying kids around too. Here you will see the lady who asks if “her oat milk coffee is really an oat milk coffee” because you know, it doesn’t taste like what she’s used to. Quite a panorama of kindly complaining Berliners everywhere. The sandwiches are good, you get to eat simit with sucuk like it’s an ordinary part of Friedrichshain daily life—which is cute. Minus part is the breakfast service ends quite early. For a city like Berlin where people work in late shifts and want to have a late breakfast, it’d be great if they extend their breakfast hours or completed skip the limitation. Apart from this, nothing really to complain about. Just grab a sandwich and...
Read moreThis is the place you go when you just want a good coffee and a friendly face :) No fuss or queuing, just a great spot to have your drink and chill. I've been going here a while now to get my oat latte, about a year or so, and it's consistent. There's a big selection of bakery things and usually a couple of vegan options, too, such as apple cake or date and oat slice. In the summer they have benches outside and iced coffees.
I love that it has a slight Turkish (i think/hope.. sorry if i'm wrong!) vibe, so there's quite often a couple of things you wouldn't usually see. Like the walnut/date chewy bar you see in the picture.
The thing that made me really happy last time was that there was a digestive biscuit! As an English gal, it warmed my heart.
Definitely family friendly, reasonable prices, fast service if you're on the way to the ubahn, and card payment above 5 euro -- or maybe its 10, don't...
