Disappointing experience because the reviews made it seem pretty good. I went for True Italian Pasta week and got a pasta dish, wine, and aperitif for 16€. The pumpkin lasagna was extremely dry and bland. I ate it mainly to have something in my stomach, not for the enjoyment. The restaurant itself had a nice rustic cargo theme but it was too small for the amount of tables and people they packed in. The air felt suffocating at times, had to go out for a break and get fresh air. The staff were nice but very busy taking care of a lot of tables so it took a while to get their attention. All in all a below average experience, there’s tons of other better Italian restaurants in Berlin.

Went on a weekday with a reservation and were able to choose our table, which was a nice touch. The service was friendly and efficient, nothing to complain about. The ambiance has a warm, rustic feel that makes it a comfortable place to sit and eat. Food-wise, it was a bit of a mixed bag. The ingredients seemed high quality, but the pasta itself was pretty bland, not much depth to the flavor. We also tried the “cargomisu,” which felt more like a basic cake than anything resembling tiramisu. Maybe that was the idea, but it didn’t really land. All in all, it’s a decent option if you're craving Italian, but don’t go in expecting to be blown away.

The pasta dish had a different pasta shape than the menu. The flavour was INTENSE but not in a good way. The risotto’s sauce was way better but no gorgonzola flavour at all and the combination of risotto really flattened the flavour even more. Most importantly, these RIDICULOUS cup sized portions for the price are just… OFFENSIVE really. It’s trying very hard to be unique and serve small to be posh but it’s actually not impressive so the high price isn’t justified.

I’ve been to Cargo a few times now and it never disappoints. The atmosphere is warm and inviting — perfect for a cozy dinner or a relaxed night out 🍷🕯️ The starters are always a great way to begin. The antipasti board is beautifully prepared with high-quality ingredients 🧀🍯🥓 (even though I don’t eat meat, it looks amazing every time!) The pasta dishes are next-level! 🍝 From the slow-cooked Bolognese 37 to the unique Barixhain, everything is full of flavor and care. The vegan VEGANORMA is just as satisfying 🌿💚 And the lasagna? We visited CARGO on recommendation of our guide Marieke from Berlin on Bike. We had an excellent evening. The owner was very hospital, very considerate. The place is small and the card also but everything is fresh, tasty and has fair prizes. The wines were good as well. We had some cheese, hams, grilled vegetables, crostini with tapenades and olives to start. After we had 'hahnchen paprikasch', a hungarian dish. Very nice with duicy chicken. One of us had the quiche which was a good balance in taste. We ended the evening with a home made apple pie, with crushed almonds and hazelnuts.
