ᵃᵈ/ᵃⁿᶻᵉⁱᵍᵉ🇩🇪 ⠀ I really wanted to show this Vietnamese Vegetarian Café @caphe_hoa to my friends after seeing all the VN food menu items you won't typically find in VN restaurants in Berlin 😍😍!⠀
☕🥚𝗘𝗚𝗚 𝗖𝗢𝗙𝗙𝗘𝗘 (Cà phê trúng) ⠀ The main reason I wanted to come was so I could show my friends this egg coffee. EGG COFFEE? – Yup, just stay with me😂! It's save to drink and made by beating an egg yolk with sweetened condensed milk until you get an airy, creamy, meringue-like fluff – Kinda like Dalgona. This eggy goodness is then slowly poured on top of hot espresso, or iced coffee.⠀
☕🥑𝗔𝘃𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗼 𝗖𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗲 The other day my mom made this new trendy drink at home by making our avocado lassi but adding coffee to it! And that's exactly how it tastes. I think it originated from Indonesia. It's a nice change ;) ⠀ 🍨🥥𝗦𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗸𝘆 𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺 (Kem xôi)⠀ Propably my favourite VN dessert! You get green pandan sticky rice topped with coconut ice cream, flakes and shreds and its absolutely wonderful! I really wanted to show it to my non-vn friends. My friend liked the taste but was grossed out by the green rice😢 had to explain that it's "naturally"green pandan extract🤭just wished the ice cream wasn't so liquidy and we had more rice.⠀
🍰🧂𝗦𝗮𝗹𝘁𝘆 𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗸𝗲 Don't literally imagine a super salty cake xD Usually you get a fluffy sweet sponge cake with a salty egg and savoury pork floss on top and between the layers in Vietnam. This version was a vegetarian interpretation of that and it was Sweet. I didn't taste the salty egg yolk. ⠀ 🍚🥘 𝗕á𝗻𝗵 Đú𝗰⠀ First time having it and I agree with @travelinh_eats that it's like an inside out turned bánh giò. I liked the steamed rice flour garnished with organic minced soy-meats, mushrooms, red onions and lime & chillies dressing. ⠀⠀
🥖🥚𝗤𝘂ẩ𝘆 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗘𝗴𝗴 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺 ⠀ Never had these crispy doughsticks with eggcream only with rice porridge! The sweet airy eggcream nicely complimented the savoury dough stick. But I found the Quay too crispy.⠀ ⠀

Read moreWe were two people (me and my bestie)
Food we ordered:
Ha cao (number 20 on the list) It was soooooooo delicious. The sauce was so good. It was super soft and the texture was really good to taste.
Crispy gyoza (number 21) Also very very yummy and delicious.
The plan was to share the 2 starters but since it was super yummy, we HAD to order another starter. Somehow, it was not filling and yet filling. - I am saying it in a positive way.
Colourful flower dumpling plate (201 on the menu) Also very yummy, the sauce was very tasty or something that was put on the dumplings was very tasty 🤤.
Main course: Curry classic (red curry) with both tofu and vegan duck. It was okay okay for me. I am not a red curry person but idk why I took it 🤷♀️. My friend likes red curry and she ordered it too and she liked it. So I would say it was good and tasty. But next time, I will try something else.
Drinks: We both ordered black icetea with lime 🍋🟩. Yummy.
We were given 2 complimentary teas on arrival.
Staff: Very friendly and nice
Atmosphere: I enjoyed sitting there. We went at 3pm on a Wednesday. It wasn’t full which was perfect because we needed time alone 😊
FAZIT: We have decided to go there over and over again until we finish everything on their meny because everything was REALLLY...
Read moreNeeded a place close to our hotel that had soup since my husband was under the weather. I walked into Caphe HOA about 30 minutes before they closed and was warmly greeted. They take cash or card, which is great. They also have specials and a small seating area. I ordered takeout and a Vietnamese coffee to join me while I waited. Let me tell you, that coffee was good! Probably the best Vietnamese coffee I've had, and I've had about 6 different places within the last year. And we ordered number 22. Super mein w tofu, 05. sup sua dua, 10. Ha cao, & 11. Edemame. All of it was ready in about 10 minutes and was packed away perfectly for my scooter ride back. The Sup sua dua was a perfect portion to accommodate the appetizers that I also ordered. Some of our meal with vegan while the other vegetarian and it didn't feel like it was missing anything. Perfectly seasoned with the soups having a little kick to them, and it was under 30 euro. I was so impressed by the service and coffee alone that I left a tip. And I'm glad I did because the food made my husband feel better and was delicious. We will definitely be going back whenever we are back in Berlin. Definitely...
