Arrived around 7 pm on a sunday. Was waiting in line alone. A family of 5 came and got the table first. Then a lot of people got served their food first, including the family of 5 and a couple next to me that just arrived. and i had to wait for around 1 hour to be served a single portion of fermented vegetables. The food was ok, a tantan ramen. There's nothing to be hooked. I think the place just got hyped. Girls serving was really friendly besides the fact above, but yet, not even an apology when i communicated the fact. The chef acted like i was wrong to raise the subject. I would recommend going to Smartdeli Sushi & More for a true japanese experience. They have even japanese groceries and stuff to sell from Japan, plus not crowded just because of the hype, and they serve fairly who arrive first. Tip to staff: When you make a mistake, apologize and do not behave like it is the customer fault. One person alone is a customer like any other and should be treated equally with fairness and respect. Especially when he arrives first, is put on hold for others to be served that arrived later. Tip to Chef. Probably you came out from the kitchen juat to serve me and apologize for the mistake, but I'm not sure if it was for me because i had to "hijack" the ramen from the guy next to me that just arrived andnm when i mentioned that i was waiting for like an hour, you ignored and went back to the kitchen. Conclusion: we all make mistakes. But not everyone acknowledge and be accountable for their own. Let's evolve. Does not hurt a simple "I'm sorry." If i got one, I...
Read moreI didn’t have a pleasant experience here. The cheapest soup (I had miso) was 13.5€ for this you get smth that tastes like water with vegetables. I had also corn in it and it felt really like water with vegetables. I came later, while my friends already ordered and were eating . I wanted to order but the waiter said that they don’t do it like this, that my friends already ordered and I order later. I asked if I can order smth that doesn’t take much time to prepare and she with a reluctant face and tone came “to ask the kitchen” if I can order. Sorry but I thought ramen broth is being prepared for hours and they should have it prepared at any time. Also you are constantly being forced to be as fast as possible and make place for new people. We sat next to the door to the inner yard. And at some point the waiter just opened the door wide open so we feel the cold from the outside and it really felt like he wanted people to move. Then one friend of ours left and it was 3 of us. And when another friend left to use the bathroom, the waiter told us to move (they have long benches) and brought new people from the queue outside and sat them at our table. Therefore definitely don’t recommend if you want to sit in peace and talk with your friends. Toilet: they don’t have one, so you need to go to the street and come to the adjacent restaurant where there is also a queue so you need to tell the hostess and the line that you want to use the bathroom. Surely not my place. But decide for yourself . To cocolo: if you are so on demand, take...
Read moreCocolo sits quietly in the heart of Berlin Mitte. Low Lightning, handwritten signs, steam curling from the open kitchen. It doesn’t push itself — it just is. And it nails the feeling of slipping into a ramen bar somewhere in Tokyo on a cold night.
🥣 Broth – 5/5 Perfectly balanced and surprisingly layered. What made this broth special was how the umami built gradually — not all up front. The more you eat, the deeper it gets. By the last sip, it was an umami bomb. Clean, rich, and deeply satisfying. 🍜 Noodles – 5/5 Thick, chewy, and absolutely on point. Cooked to perfection — firm enough to hold shape, soft enough to carry the broth. No sogginess, no bite-off weirdness. Really well done. 🥩 Toppings – 4/5 The kakuni was standout — honey-glazed and rich, easily the most memorable bite in the bowl. The chashu felt a little too subtle and got lost under stronger flavors. The ajitama was cooked a bit longer than I like — not jammy, more set. Balanced overall, but not flawless. 👁️ Presentation – 4/5 Served in beautiful handmade ceramics that made the whole experience feel grounded and intentional. But: the chopsticks were flimsy, disposable bamboo — which felt totally out of sync with the rest. The vibe and atmosphere though? Excellent. Dim, focused, just enough buzz.
⭐ Overall: 4.5/5 Would I go back? Absolutely. Would I recommend it? Already have. If you're in Berlin and craving warmth in a bowl...
