I've never had a better experience at a hotel. Never. Due to a problem with other accommodations, I had to make a last-minute reservation and found availability at Casa Camper the day before I needed to check in. I had stayed at the Barcelona location years ago and figured it would be a good experience, but it exceeded my expectations.
I arrived at 9 AM tired and stressed, expecting to only be able to leave my bags before the afternoon check-in. Imagine my delight and relief when I was allowed up to my room immediately thanks to the thoughtfulness of Carlos at the front desk. Incredible!
The room was wonderful, quiet and spacious, more like a small studio apartment than a hotel room. The bed was very comfortable, and I've rarely slept as well in a hotel. The shower was like a spa, bathrobes and Camper slippers included. Every design detail - from the lights to the shelves to the chairs and tables - is perfect.
Breakfast was included and the food was perfect for starting busy days of meetings and sightseeing on my combination work/leisure trip. The waitstaff was wonderful and attentive. Plus, free snacks and beverages on the 7th floor, which was perfect for relaxing in the room after long days.
The location is fantastic, with an U-Bahn station immediately outside and the Hackescher Markt S-Bahn station a very short walk from the hotel. The neighborhood is safe and convenient with lots of stores and quiet strolls possible nearby. I came back to my room late at night a couple of times and it never felt dangerous.
When I come back to Berlin I will ABSOLUTELY stay at Casa Camper. Well worth the price for the convenience, comfort and service. I can't imagine choosing another hotel. Thank you, Casa Camper!
UPDATE: I made a return to Berlin last week and stayed at Casa Camper again. It's still as great as I remember it. Free breakfast is gone and the 7th floor lounge has fewer options than before, likely due to things being back to normal a few years since things reopened after COVID, but it's still a great place to stay. I was there for the marathon, so sleep was important and the hotel is very quiet and the bed is very comfortable. This will certainly be my regular hotel when I...
Read moreWhen you're travelling, your accommodation becomes your home away from home. As someone who values comfort and character over luxury brands, I always look for a place to truly relax and feel at ease. That's why I keep coming back to Casa Camper Berlin - a property that genuinely embodies the feeling of home.
What I love most about Casa Camper Berlin is its minimalist design. Everything is clean-cut and simple, yet it still feels incredibly cosy. I've stayed here almost seven times over the years, and I'm struck by how much pleasure I get from being in this space each time. The dominant colour here is red, which always puts me in a good mood.
The hotel also offers a 24/7 restaurant/cafe called Tempempié, which is incredibly convenient. All the snacks you could want are included, and you can order alcohol at an additional cost. I love that I can drink and bill my room - it makes everything so easy.
The rooms themselves are incredibly tranquil. The vintage electric switches remind me of my grandmother's house in our village, and the light is always so soothing. I particularly love the sofa-type armchair - it's perfect for relaxing and letting your laziness take over. And the analogue radio on the bedside table is a lovely touch.
Every time I step into Casa Camper Berlin, I feel a sense of appreciation for myself - for choosing to stay in a place that genuinely feels like a home away from home. "Luxury is experience" is a phrase that suggests that true luxury is not simply about having material possessions or expensive things, but about the quality of experiences that those possessions can provide. In other words, luxury is more about the way something makes you feel, rather than the actual item itself.
A luxurious hotel might have beautiful furnishings and a prime location, but what truly makes it elegant is the quality of service, the attention to detail, and the overall experience of staying there.
It's a reminder that true luxury is about taking the time to savour the things that bring us joy and enhance our lives rather than simply accumulating more stuff. #casacamperberlin...
Read moreSecond time staying here and a lot has changed.
Firstly the aircon does not work as expected. The room was super hot even though it was 6° outside. When we asked reception if we could get this fixed we were told that that was the temperature of the building and there is nothing they could do. However the first night they “spoke to maintenance” and cooled the room. But by the second night it was back to being stuffy and hot again. A second conversation with reception was fruitless. Quite rudely just responding “I don’t know what to tell you” - we asked to speak to the manager but was told “not sure when he starts work” - quite frustrating considering the price and we had pre paid for 6 nights. They did provide a fan but it was kind of pointless.
The main issue regardless of the room temperature was the attitude of the reception staff. Like it was our problem. Heaven forbid that we require the room to be cool. I would hate to think what the temperature gets to in summer. The my also kept referring to my husband as my “friend” when clearly we were a couple and the room was a double. Rude.
Other points to note. The gym is none existent. There is one electric bike and then an all-in-one sort of resistance band machine. Totally pointless and a far stretch to call it a gym (we joined fitness first with a 7 day pass which was amazing).
Previously the 7th floor was a little gem providing refreshments, sandwiches, breakfast items and pastries. This has been replaced with a coffee machine, tea bags, a small bowl of bread rolls and usually some 1 inch pieces of carrot cake or a mini pastry. Again, quite a let down and the hotel still promotes this as a perk. There are other items there now but these all have to be paid for.
Lastly, the shower needs an upgrade. Again for the price, the tiles are less than sparkly, the hot water needs to run for about 10 minutes before it’s hot. Not great when you get back...
