Habeit shel AMANO — Local services in Berlin

First and foremost: the food was good! Great hummus and the prawns were really tasty.

Now to the criticism: service was simply bad. It took forever until somebody came to see us even for drinks and then it took like another 20 minutes for those drinks to arrive. After we ordered, we wanted to give back our menus and the server reacted quite annoyed and rolled her eyes on us. After only receiving 2 pita breads for a huge sharing platter, we asked for more and only received one small bread. One dish we ordered never arrived and once we were already done with everything else, our server came and told us that they are out and if we want something else (don’t you know sth like that upfront?)

The music is so loud, you feel like you’re in a club (and not a good one). Talking to each other is nearly impossible. Also, the lights turned on and off every few minutes, which became quite annoying.

We had not only a delicious meal, but an all-around amazing experience at Habeit. Staff was always very attentive and their suggestions were on the money - at their suggestion we had starting drinks (Jerusalem Spritz and Habibi Mule) that were excellent. They were always friendly, answered all our questions and even with a full restaurant we were served in a timely fashion.

We (2 people) decided to share a few different plates - the Musakhan and Chraime were our favorites, full of flavors and spices, but hearty and tender. The Labneh had a wonderful texture and we regret not asking for a portion to go so we could indulge on it one more time the next day.

Even in a city with so much good middle-eastern cuisine, this deserves to be a highlight. I now have to go back for the...

I recently visited Habeit Shel Amano and tried their chicken shawarma plate, but unfortunately it didn't quite meet my expectations. However, I did enjoy the hummus and dessert, which were both delicious and beautifully presented. The only downside was that the restaurant was a bit on the expensive side. On the positive side, the music was great and provided a nice ambiance to the restaurant. Additionally, I appreciated the presentation of the dishes, and I even took some pictures to capture the moment.
