Disgusting behavior. We ordered 2 breakfasts and a coffee, waited 45 minutes for the food which was medicore at best and well overpriced. Then my friend found A LOT OF HAIR in his pancakes. I took the food back to the staff and since we didn't have time to wait another 45 minutes I asked for a refund for that meal. The staff then told me they will give me half back since half of the food was eaten. I argued that my friend and I obviously don't expect the food to be contaminated with hair so he naturally had eaten some before we realised there was multiple bits of hair in it. I kept asking for the full refund on just that meal since it was very expensive.
The whole conversation until then was in English. Then the staff member abruptly switched to German and started speaking very fast. I understood that she was deliberately trying to get rid of me by alienating me from the conversation with the language change, as I told her I did not fully understand everything she was saying. She then continued in German and I could feel I wasn't going to get anything back for this and it felt extremely discriminatory. I used the German I know to get half the money back which she was offering and left.
TL;DR
I paid 30euro and waited 45mins to get lots of hair in the food and disriminated against. Don't eat here - read some of the...
Read moreToday I visited Café Cozys Coffee with a friend, and I have to say: it was one of the most unpleasant café experiences I’ve had in a long time.
We ordered a water, an Iced Latte (for €4.90), and a Fritzlimo Orange. After paying, we were told that the Fritzlimo was actually out of stock – instead, we were given an alternative drink. We sat down at a table with a number and waited. After 2–3 minutes, a staff member approached us and demanded an extra 60 cents because the alternative drink was more expensive… Speechless, absolutely embarrassing and unprofessional.
I then waited 35 minutes for my Iced Coffee Latte (I even asked about it in the meantime). When I finally went inside, I was told that my order had been “lost” and without a receipt for my table number, a refund wouldn’t be possible. After the owner briefly spoke with the staff member, the situation was resolved, and I was handed €4.30 from the tip jar – without an apology or any comment, and 60 cents short… I didn’t say anything else, as I could already sense the negative vibe from this person, and I left the café for the last time. I regret every cent of tip I ever left at this place.
Conclusion: If you value friendly service and a “cozy” café experience, you should avoid this place. Café Cozys Coffee obviously survives only because of its location –...
Read moreGreat place, intimate and warm though modern in style. Facing Boxhagener Platz you can sit outside on the patio and enjoy the sun or in one of two rooms inside, either at the window on bar alike chairs, on a classic style leather lounger or at various tables. There is also free wifi / free wlan internet access.
The food and coffees are Austrian inspired, so there are various cakes or even Kaiserschmarrn, which is super deliciuos, a total must have. The more healthy stuff is Muesli and fruits (kind of an granola, oats, fruits and yoghurt mix), which is my favourit breakfast there, the oatmeal is also nice and the scrambled eggs comes in different styles for both, vegetarians or bacon lovers. There is also vegan food, various sandwiches, soup and more.
The coffees, American, Italian or Austrian style, are just great, even Australians are happy to get there Flat White. As this place is about real taste, all the stuff they're offering seems organic and all their smoothies have quite a healthy touch.
As its good and directly placed at Boxhagener Platz it might be crowded on the weekends, so better be early. By the way, t's the only place in the whole Simon-Dach-Straßen Kiez area I know, which is oping at 8:30am, that's just great if you're...
