After 3 years living close by and frequently eating there I finally decided to write a review. The food is good and the price is competitive. However, the environment is SUPER hostile whenever the boss/owner is not there. The gentleman who works there (used to work at night only and now it’s around the clock) is arguably the most passive agressive person I’ve met. In my experience he has: -laughed at me and other customers when ordering -ignored me completely when saying hello or coming into the store -closed early or left to smoke for a good 20 mins while you wait to order, without saying a word of course -insulted me and other customers in his language
It really is a pity, because I see hundreds of people (especially women, POC and queer people) actively avoid this place since this dude joined. As a matter of fact, all the negative reviews (please check them, everyone had a shitty experience there it seems) started only after this guy joined.
I wonder why the owners don’t do anything about this, it is actively hurting their business. I also wonder how much higher the level of hostility can escalate because it always seems...
Read moreVery rude Staff, he was very arrogant and seemed already in a bad mood. I ordered "ohne yogurtsauce" he made me repeat 3 times looking at me like I insulted him. He then asked " what are you like vegan??" in such a agressive way. I just ordered and waited outside. When I came back inside to pick up the food and pay, he was putting the food with the napkins on the counter and the napkins suddenly fell off. I was at the same time handing over a bill to him and he literally grabbed it violently from my hand as if it was my fault the napkins fell on the ground. I literally froze. And he then mnled seething while picking them up and throwing them BACK on the shawarma!!!!! Like I deserve to wipe my face with his napkin who fell on the floor!! I literally couldn't believe how agressive this person was. I am literally never going back to this place. They don't...
Read moreFantastic schwarma and falafel, higher price than your usual place on the street but the flavour and quality makes it worth it. Falafel was super tasty, crunchy on the outside and soft/moist on the inside. Just the way it should be. Schwarma was also very good, tender and spicy. Vegetables were fresh, sauces (I tried all at once) better and more interesting than most. Great portion size and was grilled properly for once! It makes such a difference to have food like this actually hot as opposed to thrown under a grill for 10 seconds like most other places. Another plus was the service was fast and friendly. The place is pretty small so it's best to take away. Perfect since Boxhagener Platz is just across the way.thry do large plates too but I haven't had the chance to try yet. Will definitely be coming back qhenbim next...
