The food was good as usual. I have been going to To's for some years now and unfortunately yesterday was really bad. They are expanding I think and made a deal with the bar in the back so we didn't seat at the normal restaurant but in the bar in the back. We had to go through the kitchen, which is ok. Berlin style. But the service was horrendous. My friend hat to wait to be seated (we didn't know where and apparently the waiters either) although we had a reservation. Other people came and were placed first. Then it took long time until they asked for our drinks and meal and the guy was so in a rush that wasn't even waiting for everyone to say what they wanted and he was leaving the table. They forgot things we asked for, when we tried to ask someone else they said "not now" and when they came back 10 min later we had already asked someone else, which was pointless anyway since they didn't bring us anything from there. When we asked for the bill, they didn't bring it either. I saw the other three tables one after the other asking for the bill and being charged but not us. The waiter was there, just talking without even trying to look at us. A real pity. It used to be one of my favourites. The food is good but the service...
Read morethis place is run by either racist or rude clueless people. I went there alone and was told there was no seating, though I could see empty spaces. They said I could sit outside (it was late at night and chilly and nobody sat outside). There were only two names on the waiting list that hadn't been crossed-out and nobody was waiting to be seated. I asked when would a table be free. They shrugged and shook their heads as though they did not want me. I asked again, again they shrugged and didn't say a word. I left, but as I unlocked my bike, another group went inside. They talked for a few minutes to the man behind the bar and then were seated. I went back inside to ask how come the group after me was accommodated. This time I spoke in English. The waitress shrugged and ignored me again, and the guy behind the bar lashed out at me. When I looked at the waiting list the two names were still there. Anyway, this place has no customer service and made me feel racially profiled. If you are brown, Iranian or middle-eastern looking and do not wear any hip clothes, stay away. That's...
Read moreWe’ve been coming to Dr. To’s for years, and honestly, it never disappoints. This little spot in Neukölln is such a gem! The menu is amazing—there’s something for everyone, whether you’re into fresh fish, hearty meats, or vegan and vegetarian dishes. Everything we’ve tried has been freshly prepared, creative, and absolutely delicious. We love that most dishes are perfect for sharing, which makes it really fun to try a bit of everything. The atmosphere is just right—cozy and relaxed, with soft lighting and simple décor that make it feel welcoming without being pretentious. It’s small, which actually makes it feel more intimate and lively. You often see groups celebrating birthdays or special occasions here, but it’s also great for a date night. Service is always friendly and attentive, and you’re greeted warmly from the moment you walk in. Because it’s popular (and rightly so!), we’d definitely recommend booking a table in advance. If you’re in Berlin and love inventive Asian food that’s perfect for sharing, Dr. To’s is an absolute must. We can’t...
