Föllerei — Restaurant in Berlin

Genuinely nice place. Celebrated my birthday here about a month ago and we had two kids, one not yet three, and they were beyond accommodating. I haven't actually been to any other restaurant in Germany where the child friendliness was in any way equal.

The food was excellent too—and the fact this seems like an aside is absolutely bonkers!! European with a twist as someone else put it is a good description; it's elegant and knowledgeable cookery of often simple dishes that makes for delicious results. The flavour palettes they manage to tease out of traditional dishes without it becoming too cheffy is such a joy.

The only thing that could be improved upon was that our food took extremely long for some reason. But there seems to have been a miscommunication with the kitchen, so I'm pretty sure this isn't an actual flaw.

Overall, I'd go back any time for lunch or dinner. Definite...

We had such a great evening once there and decided to do a small celebration. Even though we told the stuff that it was a special day for us, they were very mean to our guests and to us from the very beginning. First, when we wanted to start with appetizers and decide later for the main course, one lady misunderstood that as we won’t eat main course and said „hier ist ein restaurant, hier wird es gegessen!“ (here is a Restaurant, you come here to eat) as if it was not obvious! She apologized later and after half an hour she was mean again to another one for sth else. When i wanted to order dessert, another lady was angry at me, she thought i wanted them to hurry for my order but, i just wanted to get the menu, then she apologized as well. I don’t know what was wrong but they totally destroyed our joy being there. Thanks for that! And...

Refined German cuisine that is well portioned and well priced. The experience overall made for fantastic fine dining with impeccable service that is at once warm and competent.

We started with the orange-fennel soup, which was truly exceptional, akin to a gazpacho but hot and made mostly of oranges. Very unusual and delicious. I will go back just to have this soup again!

The pork neck steak was also very tasty, though a bit thinly cut by my standards. Because it came with a potato gratin, this main was enough for my larger than average appetite. The combination of flavors with the delicate cabbage, the garlic herb butter, and the meat was a delight.
