RUDIMARIE + missismiller — Restaurant in Berlin

One of the unfriendliest places in Neukölln. Staff is so cold and rude seriously. We have been regular customers there for almost a year. We could see newly hired waiters and waitresses starting very kind, warm, smiling and welcoming and, shortly after, ending up just as cold and rude as the rest of the staff.

We now avoid the place altogether, even though we live just a few meters away, we're basically neighbours.

It's a shame because they have such a great location and their menu is alright (even though super expansive compared to nearby cafes). Maybe this amazing location makes them so popular that they don't feel the need to be kind to people who are kind to them. Or maybe they're just too stressed and busy. Rude and unwelcoming. I came here multiple times and the sulkiness has always been a problem for me. I thought that it is maybe because I speak English and not German. But today, I went in with the stroller and told them that I will fold it to the size of a bag when I sit down. The lady at the counter was very negative, almost questioned me and told me that "I show her once I do it" then took my order after a back and forth of convincing her that I do not lie. It was not welcoming at all. She did not even try to fix it when I said kindly that I am leaving. I understand that it is a hard rule to apply but no need the be negative and unwelcoming. This is a nice spot where you can take your kids and don't have to worry about them being too loud or have something to play with whilst sipping on a nice latte and enjoying a lovely piece of cake. It is very kids friendly and has a little corner for the kids to play - they won't get bored for sure.
