11.50 for a Bufala pizza. 3 euros extra for salami! So the pizza I wanted cost 14.50!! A pizza that would probably leave me hungry 2 hours after eating it. I placed my order and asked for a coke light. I was told they didn't have coke light or any calorie free cola!! What kind of a cheap restaurant dares charging 14.50 for a pizza but doesn't serve any selection of diet colas? If you have the nerve to charge that much for a pizza, you better be sure to have EVERY basic drink that any 3 euro kebab place will have. As they didn't have any drink I wanted, I asked for a glass of water to go with my incredibly expensive pizza and was told they were not permitted to serve tap water, even though I was prepared to spend 15 euros on a piece of bread with some cheese on it and it was also over 90 (32) degrees outside. If that isn't illegal, it should be. What utter cheapness! This place is a joke. I canceled the order and left. Will never return. One thing Berlin gets wrong over and over I've noticed is their hipster restaurants charge the same insane prices as in New York or San Francisco but completely lack anything approaching the service one expects when paying for vastly overpriced food. If you are going to charge a fortune for a simple peasant food you better serve diet coke and you better make me feel welcomed and comfortable. EDIT: You can see the owner replied below calling me a joke for complaining. This only further show's my point: A GOOD restaurant's reply to an unsatisfied customer is "Sorry, we will do better!" But instead, these people complain that YOU are wrong for not being satisfied. Good luck with that model of...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I used to love going there, but lately, we are more than disappointed. They changed their menu (which we understood), but the service is getting worse every time we go. Tonight was our last time eating at the W Pizza. We arrived shortly after their opening hour and were happy to see a not-so-busy restaurant, thinking that the service would be better than the last times. But no. We got greeted in English (fine) and quickly realized that the staff didn’t speak German, at all. After 15 minutes, I stood up to give our drink order. Drinks arrived quickly, but we waited another 15 minutes before being able to give our food order, and then waited another half hour before receiving our food. It took 1 hour, on a Tuesday evening, to receive our food… which was burnt. We were starving, so we started eating, but the waitress never came to check if everything was ok. After we finished eating, it took 10 minutes for the waitress to clean the table. We showed her the burnt pizza pieces and she said she would “talk to the chef” and that they would “take care of it”. After another 20 minutes, she was still not back. I stood up to go pay (we were already almost 2 hours there) and she just gave me an amount. I paid and asked for the receipt, just to see that nothing has been discounted/done regarding the burnt pizza. The bill was over 50€ for 2 pizzas and 2 drinks (beer/wine). I am sad to admit that the W Pizza is no longer worth the price, and especially...
Read moreSince this is our neighborhood, we were one of the first guests ever. The service was appalling and we got apologies from the owner who promised they will improve. So we gave it another chance few weeks ago. Again the same story, horrible service, rude staff, food late, they forget things, etc. and we thought... OK, they are still figuring it out. Then yesterday I just went to get a pizza and take it home since my wife is sick and one of the staff tells me: you can only sit and eat here. I tell her I can sit and wait but please bring it in the box to go. She tells me that's not possible, only on a plate since it's busy. ?! I tried to argue but I was told that's the decision of the management and that she can't do anything about it. So dear neighbours: NEVER, EVER AGAIN! Ah yes, the pizza... it's pretty good. Dough is baked to perfection, toppings are good, especially burrata and marinara sauce. It's a bit pricey, but I guess it has to be with real Italian...
