DON‘T TRUST THE GOOD REVIEWS since most of them are fake as you can tell by how they‘re written. We’ve been there because we trusted them and we regret it. The vibe was already weird from the moment we came in. Mother and Son run the place and don’t hesitate to argue in front of customers (as already described in other reviews). While ordering they’ll also encourage you to take upgrades „so it’s worth it„ which cost more which is a no go to tell customers in my opinion. You’ll then get a dish which lacks in taste and is absolutely nothing special and most of all WAY TOO OVERPRICED for what it is, which really is not much and also doesn’t contain any special ingredients like they claimed when we confronted them while paying. We even tried to tell them why we thought that its overpriced but they didn’t listen in fact all they wanna do is defend themselves and their shady business. This place clearly doesn’t care about the customers but only about their money. Maybe instead of investing in fake reviews it would be more helpful to listen to your customers feedback, but I’m sure they’ll read it here anyway since they seem to care about their online reviews. One last thing, if you still decide to go there you better not ask for anything extra because they’ll try to charge you extra for anything like a slice of tomato or 1 extra Euro for oatmilk (also already stated in other trustful reviews). A...

I wouldn’t have minded that even but what really put me off was being charged after the fact for asking for a bit of butter for my toast. With the price of the food I felt a tiny pat of butter should have been included. It did say “extra butter” was €.70 on the menu but I assumed that meant “extra” and that the toast wouldn’t have come dry. We didn’t even get the second order of toast because my husband can’t eat gluten so I thought that would have at least balanced out to €.70. Yes, it’s only €.70 but it’s the principle. Im not from here, though, so perhaps this is how it’s done in Germany.
Also anyone looking for gluten free, beware. There are items you can have like yogurt and the eggs without toast but a google search says “menu highlights: gluten-free” but there is not a dedicated gluten free menu. Don’t think it would be a problem if you aren’t...
Read moreA little gem hidden away in central Berlin, Hasty Pastry was a very pleasant surprise right outside our hotel. Serving traditional Italian piadina flatbread (or lard-free 'pidaza' equivalents), these are thin crispy dishes filled with fresh ingredients that are apparently shipped in from Italy to stay true to the original recipe!
Honestly, this place reminds me of the wave of independent, social enterprises in east London and that's a great thing.
Our favourite pidaza was the spinach with spelt flour, but the meat filled options looked amazing too. The coffee was a very pleasant bonus - easily the best we had during our time in Berlin - and the familial vibe along with the outstanding customer care makes this place a special one. Anton is clearly a conscientious and thoughtful business owner. Can't...
