One of the reasons why I love Berlin is the variety of life. Of course gastronomy could never be an exception in such a city. Here you can find places for every taste and budget, for a quick bite or a special dinner.
In our focus today is @dolores a famous burrito🌯 restaurant with a 15-year history which gives the term "fast food" an enormous upgrade.
Here you will find fresh ingredients, large portions, affordable prices, many vegan and vegetarian options and super friendly staff!
Yesterday I visited this location near the KaDeWe-mall and although it's a highly attended place and sometimes the line reaches out to the street I received following order in 5 minutes: •🌯 huge "vegan lover" burrito with soy meat, black beans, vegetables, rice and sauces (8 €) •🍲 bowl "fresh avocado" with tomatoes, lettuce, guacamole, rice, beans and tacos (6.5 €) •🌮 quesadilla "cheese green" with zucchini, cheese and spicy green salsa (6.5 €)
🍺special Dolores beer 2.8 €
Further you can create your own salad, burrito or bowl using the ingredients of your choice.
Very tasty and fresh food, really fast, satisfying, moderately spicy (but if you want 🌶🌶🌶 you can add chili sauce as much as you like🔥🔥🔥)

Read moreThe food at Dolores is "honest". What I mean by that is that the price and quality are logically connected. The food does come pretty close to real Mexican food, especially their tortillas chips (none of this Doritos-style non sense). They have options for vegetarians, vegans and gluten-free. I even feel like it would be a good place for a person with diabetes to eat as they have some low carb protein options (think burrito bowl with soy meat or actual meat). There is no table service so you would have to pick up your food with tray when it's ready (there is an order number on your bill so you just have to wait until it comes up on one of the screens). This is not a romantic setting but its definitely perfect for filling up on some healthier fast food before burning those calories shopping all up and down Kudamm. If you go by car, there are some parking spots in front of and next to this store....
Read moreOk folks, I lived in San Francisco for my almost my entire adult life before moving to Berlin five years ago. I was always nervous about coming here because I was afraid of being disappointed. Other than El Oso at Pfefferberg, a lot of Berlin Mexican is weird off-tasting stuff like mole made from Hershey chocolate sauce. But this was good! I had the "Naughty Pork" burrito with chips and salsa verde. Taste reminded me of El Faro near my old office donwtown. Plus I sat next to a map with my old neighborhood on it (lived at Castro and 14th for 15 years).
Prices are rather high in comparison to back home, esp for chips, which Jesus clearly said in the Bible should be free, but food was excellent. (And if you want to go full SF, steam the burrito right before it is served and wrap it in aluminum foil.). But now that I have overcome my fear I will be...
