After spending a long day at the Mauerpark, my friend and I decided to quench our thirst and order aperol spritz to cool off. It was a tad bit more on the pricier side (5€) but you could definitely taste the prosecco. We ordered Caprese, which came with a generous amount of high quality buffalo cheese and a bowl of olive of olive oil. It was very delicious. It was served with bread in a paper bag. The bread itself was a little bit bland and seemed to be at least a day old. After a while we decided to order a pizza, since it looked like authentic italian pizza. A thin crispy crust and fresh out of the oven. My friend and I ordered the pizza prosciutto with additional ruccola. The owner and the waiters were all very friendly and welcoming. To my surprise, the topping on the pizza were so scarcely and the ruccola left out. Normally when i order a pizza with prosciutto there is at least one slice per pizza slice. They served the pizza with only two slices of prosciutto?? To be fair, it was high quality prosciutto but not a fair price product ratio in my opinion, since it was all more on the pricier side. To complement our dinner we ordered some wine, which was delicious and at the end we had some delicious limoncello. All in all we paid 40€ including tips. Would i go there again? Maybe...
Read morePossibly one of the most horrific dining experiences I’ve ever had. Staff were horrible, rude and didn’t want a single customer there. After sitting down we received our menus very quickly however when we tried to make our order, every time we attempted to get a servers attention, they completely ignored us. The restaurant was by no means busy. We ordered the only red wine on the menu which we left behind as it was undrinkable. We asked to move outside to have a smoke and the waiter in the most dramatic way possible told us no in Italian and proceeded to visibly give out about us to his colleagues. As it is impossible to gain attention of any staff member I then proceeded to the bar to pay where I was met by dirty looks and huffs by three staff members who refused to assist me. I have never felt so unwanted in an establishment in my life....
Read more2 stars because in the past I had a good experience at il Giradischi but yesterday it's been a 1 star experience. It started with being told that we'd have to find a table ourselves, which is weird but I guess ok? We then managed to order relatively quickly, but unfortunately, it took forever to get our pizza. After about 45 minutes we were reassured that our food was coming and that it'd be only a matter of a minute. 15-20 minutes later our pizzas finally arrived. To my surprise, the potatoes on my pizza were not cooked – my guess is that they were sliced and put on the pizza assuming they'd cook enough while the pizza was in the oven, which of course is not how potatoes work. By then it was already after 10pm and I was way too tired to complain. I just wanted to eat my pizza...
