Review: Hako Ramen – A Heavenly Ramen Experience in Berlin
If you think you’ve had good ramen before, think again. Hako Ramen in Berlin elevates Japanese noodle soup to a level that will send your taste buds into pure ecstasy. This isn’t just a meal; it’s a culinary revelation.
The Flavor Experience From the first sip of the broth, you know this is something special. The flavors are deep, rich, and perfectly balanced. The umami embraces your tongue like a warm blanket on a cold winter day. The noodles? Just the right texture – not too soft, not too firm. And the toppings… a perfect harmony of textures and tastes.
The Perfection of the Vegan Options Even if you're not usually into vegan dishes, you must try the vegan tantanmen here. Creamy, spicy, and so flavorful that you wouldn't believe it's plant-based. The vegan chashu? A masterpiece on its own.
Ambience & Service Hako Ramen feels like a little slice of Japan in the heart of Berlin. The atmosphere is warm, the service is friendly and attentive, and the entire place has a relaxed, authentic vibe.
Final Verdict Hako Ramen is not just a restaurant; it's an experience. One worth traveling for, waiting in line for, and raving about long after your first visit. The best meal I've ever had? Without a doubt. And I’ll be back – as soon...
Read moreThe food was good and came rather quickly. The service is what makes it go all the way to one start. From the moment we entered, we were not greeted, only asked if we had a reservation (which I could not book via phone, as they said "just come over and we'll see"). Then we're asked to wait, whether to be seated or to check if tables were still available was not clear. We get seated a few minutes early, and we're told that we could only pay cash (in 2024). I had cash, so said ok, but immediately decided I would not tip because of this. We get the order, they bring the drinks and roughly drop them on the table without a glance at us. Food is good, we eat up, ask to pay, the bill is just over 40€, I hand the waiter a 50€ banknote, and after several seconds of silent in action, thr waiter asked "how much do you want to pay?" Basically asking for a tip. I said what's on the bill, I would have tipped if I could have paid by card. The waiter took very poorly to this and made no efforts to hide his malcontent. Only after we left I realised we didn't get a receipt so who knows, maybe they did get their tip, only from the German government rather than from me. First and last time, I'd much rather give my money to someone more wholesome than...
Read moreThe waitress who served us was really nice. However when they brought the food out, wasn't what we ordered. The waitress was nice enough to want to rectify the errors but then a male waiter came and started talking down to us and telling us that we did order it when we didn't. Then proceeded to ask me to grab the extra egg they gave me (chicken broth) to put in my wife's vegetarian bowl who can't consume meat bone broth. Made us feel bad about it. Then took the egg back to do who knows what with. Never felt so uncomfortable in a restaurant especially when we were very polite and smiled when he took the egg. We even said sorry like it was our fault for not getting what we ordered. The food wasn't worth the hassle honestly. We honestly would have been fine if the male waiter never interacted with us. Literally gave my wife and I anxiety for just wanting what we ordered. I never give reviews but I literally feel sick in my stomach after all that and venting this out will hopefully make me feel better 🤷🏽♂️. Terrible. Again our waitress was really nice but that male waiter should not be out interacting with customers sorry...
