IL VALENTINO — Restaurant in Berlin

We used to enjoy having a nice dinner Here but unfortunately never again!! Ambiance: Even though we sat indoor in the (!) non-smoking area there were people smoking cigarettes & cigarillos. It smelled disgusting. Other guests also complained but the restaurant management just ignored that.

Service: The waitress was very rude and even insulted us because in the end we told her that we were dissatisfied about the smoking situation.

Food: For that price you can get better food quality. The Antipasti we ordered was way overpriced . Even though we just ordered 1 portion they brought us 2 (without asking) and charged it. Then the truffel Pasta was not al dente. Besides one portion still had a very alcolholic taste because they did Not let the alcohol on the Parmesan burned...

Small drink and food portions for the high cost, not a good value. Menu in Italian and German, no English. Asked for tap water, got bottled, 6€ ($7). I just wanted a fresh veggie salad, settled for arugula, tomato, parmesan (simple tossed not offered), 11,90€ ($14) (overboard on the parm, 2 sliced cherry tomatoes, some yellow arugula). Bread brought to table, we didnt ask for it, charged 2,50€ ($2.90). Husband had small pasta dish, 21.5€ ($25.27). After meal, again asked for tap water using translation app, waiter responds "champaign Americano," which sounded like a dig/insult. We were completely neglected thereafter. Honestly, the restaurant...

Nice atmosphere, but the dish - seasoning pasta with chanterelles was a disaster. Every bite was accompanied with sand crunch, which was disgusting. Is it so hard - to cook well washed mushrooms? One of waiters was smoking inside near the bar and I was forced to smell it during my meal. Maybe it's just an unhappy coincidence because I read such nice things about this place in other reviews but my experience unfortunately was...
