The exhibit was very modern with an appropriate amount of information. From the very first moment it was clear that our guide knew the what she was talking about and who she was talking to (a group of foreign students). She was definitely one of best guides that I've experienced. Although we visited on a Saturday the place was relatively quiet. The stories about resistance against socialist Germany were well selected and interesting. The fact that the history has direct ties with the building was a nice touch. Great place worth a visit for all interested in history, told from a different perspective.

Nice modern museum with an amazing permanent exhibition. You will see the big and the details picture of how German people fought against the Nazi rule. It draws a very precise picture of how many different groups there were who stood up against the National Socialism in Germany that days amid the risk of being imprisoned and killed, as it happened with many of them. Liked the part telling about bin Stauffenberg a lot. There are films, audio pieces, and you can have the audio guide. Also, the museum sells amazing books and transcripts of the exhibits that only cost 5-10 euros

The monument of the German Resistance can be easily reached by bus, but it is also somewhat hidden in a grey building with a small entrance. Right at the entrance you can see information on the wall with something of what is coming and when the museum was opened.

We were there with a group of our international students from the language school. The texts and descriptions were all easy to understand. It was very nice that German and English were offered.

The museum is located on 3 floors with the entire history of the German Resistance. The most impressive part are the histories of the Hidden heroes where you can see all the people that helped out of their own hearts the jews to escape or hide during the years. This could be neighbours, friends even politicians, just people with a heart that believed jews were in fact just people like they were and were entitled to a normal life.

The museum has a large number of records that can be viewed and even purchased. On the third floor there is an interactive room where you can look up missing persons of that time or letters written by hidden or threatened persons. It is terrible and heartbreaking to see the Jews suffering innocently in the hands of the German government.

If you are interested in history and curious about this time, the Monument of German Resistance is...

Juli 1944. Quelle: Auszugsweise „Gedenkstätte Deutscher Widerstand“ und Wikipedia. Fotos:...

Though I could only clear 2 floors of the museum, this place spans 22 floors and would probably require a whole day to clear. Still, the 2 floors that I visited were to commemorate the more well known people who stood up to the Third Reich.

Claus von. Stauffenburg, the man who, with many others, executed the assassination attempt on Hitler to initiate Operation Valkyrie, has his original office situated here. Though most of it has been converted to a museum, a few remaining pieces of his original office still remains, such as the glass windows.

Among others is also the section to remember the members of the White Rose Movement, especially Sophie Scholl.

Tour guides were pretty clear in their explanation and smooth with the transition from one area to another.

A good place to visit for some historical facts. You can even be on the grounds where von Stauffenburg was executed, a place of great historical...
