Very disappointing experience, food prepared with no attention to flavor or respect for the customer.

I came to IRO in a group of three, we shared appetizers: gyoza, cucumbers in chili oil, mochi and “karaage”. The one thing that all these dishes had in common was the lack of flavor, cucumbers were soggy and barely spicy, “karaage” had nothing to do with karaage, it was just undercooked vegan meatballs, gyoza were deep fried and reminded me of American style deep fried wontons rather than gyoza.

For mains we tried two ramens, both with overcooked noodles. Tantan broth was watered down and bland, shoyu broth had some flavor but was topped with soggy tofu and Chinese cabbage that seemed to be charred before to the point of releasing too much overpowering onion aftertaste.

Finally, we tried sushi. It was mostly prepared with purple rice, not mentioned on the menu although it should’ve been as it significantly changes the taste of sushi. The king oyster mushroom nigiri was chewy and bland, the rolls had very uneven sizes, some were proper bite size, while some were too big to fit in the mouth.

I wouldn’t call this place a Japanese Izakaya, but rather a loose western interpretation of some Japanese dishes. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this place until the menu is significantly improved, and the chef starts...

I recently had the most amazing dining experience at this Japanese vegan restaurant, and I couldn't be more thrilled to share my thoughts. As someone who isn't familiar with either vegan or Japanese cuisine, I was pleasantly surprised by the culinary journey that awaited me.

Without a doubt, the standout dish for me was the Shirunashi Udon. The delicate balance of textures and tastes was simply impeccable. It's a dish I would wholeheartedly recommend to anyone visiting the restaurant.

What truly set this restaurant apart was not just the incredible food, but also the impeccable service. The staff's attention to detail and their genuine enthusiasm made the experience even more memorable.

In all honesty, I can confidently say that dining at this Japanese vegan restaurant was one of the best experiences I've ever had. The fusion of flavors, the friendly staff, and the inviting ambiance created a remarkable and unforgettable evening. Whether you're a vegan food enthusiast or a complete novice like me, this restaurant is an absolute must-visit. I can't wait to return and explore more of...

Dining outside seems to be a quite different experience than dining in: cheap worn-out chopsticks, tables, etc.

I ordered a ramen classic - tantanmen. It was AT MOST mediocre. Watery, lacked flavor, broad overcooked noodles. I mean it felt like somebody attempted to prepare a tantan but failed.

It was edible therefore I’m giving two stars, though when you think about it… it’s a ramen place and this was just another meh ramen.

I’m writing this review because the rating of this place lured me here and it was a major disappointment.

I ordered yuzu lemonade which was served without its yuzu syrup. The bartender was very friendly and helpful, prepared a new drink immediately, though the lemonade was again - underwhelming.

The waitress began each interaction speaking German even though I emphasized I only speak English. Idk, everything about this experience...

My first time here. Probably better would be to order sushi to make a proper review. But we had ramen and appetizers. Ramen was okay but not the best (3.5/5): regarding TANTAN RAMEN: packchoi was extremely cold (like if it would jump to my plate right from a freezer). Sweet potato had strong deep fryer flavor. In general this ramen had very oily texture. very little bit of vegan meat and lack of flavour. Didn't get umami moment no matter how hard i tried. my partner had WANTAN RAMEN. I would say this type of broth i liked better, and dumplings were pretty good. But once again the taste of ramen in general wasn't rich enough. Both of us got to use a soy sous to improve our experience. Appetizers: VEGAN KARAAGE: 4/5. AVOCADO DREAM 3.5/5. the taste was too flat and straight. Service quick, kind and friendly 5/5.

We went on a Saturday evening so it was very crowded and loud but we got a table fairly quickly. We ordered three starters (tofu/chicken stew, mushroom skewers, fried avocado) and they were all incredible! So flavourful and great combinations. The homemade drinks were fun too. Sushi was great, very unique choices and some of the best sushi I’ve tried. Dessert was yummy too. Overall we greatly enjoyed the food and the waiter was very friendly too :) Hope to come back - one of my favourite places ever! Came back the next day cause we enjoyed it so much and tried the mixed starter plate and some more sushi (love the crispy chicken roll!!). Was much more relaxed on a Sunday afternoon and the staff is very nice. Always happy to see vegan places that put a lot of love into all their dishes :)

this place is absolutely amazing! they offer a huge selection of delicious vegan dishes, a lot of them with interesting twists and also a lot of things i haven't seen at other restaurants before, iro is worth the visit!! we went here for dinner and got the mochi agedashi (soooo delicious) and the edamame as starters, ramen, udon and curry as our mains and both desserts + drinks and everything arrived so fast i also think the pricing is reasonable for the quality the thing i would recommend more than anything is the red hot chili pepper mocktail, ive never had anything like it and it was so delicious :) not too spicy either, just a subtle note that really elevates the drink to the next level my only complaint is that the menu was hard to read in their low lighting
