Very disappointing experience, food prepared with no attention to flavor or respect for the customer.
I came to IRO in a group of three, we shared appetizers: gyoza, cucumbers in chili oil, mochi and “karaage”. The one thing that all these dishes had in common was the lack of flavor, cucumbers were soggy and barely spicy, “karaage” had nothing to do with karaage, it was just undercooked vegan meatballs, gyoza were deep fried and reminded me of American style deep fried wontons rather than gyoza.
For mains we tried two ramens, both with overcooked noodles. Tantan broth was watered down and bland, shoyu broth had some flavor but was topped with soggy tofu and Chinese cabbage that seemed to be charred before to the point of releasing too much overpowering onion aftertaste.
Finally, we tried sushi. It was mostly prepared with purple rice, not mentioned on the menu although it should’ve been as it significantly changes the taste of sushi. The king oyster mushroom nigiri was chewy and bland, the rolls had very uneven sizes, some were proper bite size, while some were too big to fit in the mouth.
I wouldn’t call this place a Japanese Izakaya, but rather a loose western interpretation of some Japanese dishes. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this place until the menu is significantly improved, and the chef starts...
Read moreI recently had the most amazing dining experience at this Japanese vegan restaurant, and I couldn't be more thrilled to share my thoughts. As someone who isn't familiar with either vegan or Japanese cuisine, I was pleasantly surprised by the culinary journey that awaited me.
Without a doubt, the standout dish for me was the Shirunashi Udon. The delicate balance of textures and tastes was simply impeccable. It's a dish I would wholeheartedly recommend to anyone visiting the restaurant.
What truly set this restaurant apart was not just the incredible food, but also the impeccable service. The staff's attention to detail and their genuine enthusiasm made the experience even more memorable.
In all honesty, I can confidently say that dining at this Japanese vegan restaurant was one of the best experiences I've ever had. The fusion of flavors, the friendly staff, and the inviting ambiance created a remarkable and unforgettable evening. Whether you're a vegan food enthusiast or a complete novice like me, this restaurant is an absolute must-visit. I can't wait to return and explore more of...

I ordered a ramen classic - tantanmen. It was AT MOST mediocre. Watery, lacked flavor, broad overcooked noodles. I mean it felt like somebody attempted to prepare a tantan but failed.
It was edible therefore I’m giving two stars, though when you think about it… it’s a ramen place and this was just another meh ramen.
I’m writing this review because the rating of this place lured me here and it was a major disappointment.
I ordered yuzu lemonade which was served without its yuzu syrup. The bartender was very friendly and helpful, prepared a new drink immediately, though the lemonade was again - underwhelming.
The waitress began each interaction speaking German even though I emphasized I only speak English. Idk, everything about this experience...
