I went here for the first time last week and was surprised to see the design of the shop, very minimalistic with a bread display in the middle, which to me seemed a little pretentious. Unfortunately the presentation of the bread did not reflect the quality. I got a regular sourdough bread in small. The staff was nice and they informed me that usually the paper bag for the bread will be 20ct but because it was my first visit they would give it to me for free this time and said I could bring it back for my next visit to reuse. I can confidently say that I threw away the paper bag today cause I will not be buying here again. The bread was super hard on the outside, I almost broke my knife cutting it. And on the inside the texture was very rubbery. Very disappointed to say the least, especially for the prices they demand. From a place that puts their bread on display like in an exhibition where you pay 5 Euros for the small loaf I would expect to receive a high quality product. Telling from the other reviews here the quality of the bread seems to be a recurring issue as to not being reliable. I went back to Zeit für Brot today where I know exactly what I'm getting for the price and am very happy with the crust, the texture and the overall quality. I would recommend Keit to really work on delivering top products instead of just luring people in with their...
Read moreHi team!
I know it’s your last day before you closing for you well deserved vacation but is that really an excuse to not deliver up to standard?
The bun is so under proved that it’s totally unacceptable for coming from a bakery. I actually toasted it but was still very very doughy and at the end we didn’t eat it. The Artisan is slightly under proved but it’s eatable. But both result is something a hobby baker can produce a get away with it. But you?
I don’t want anything else then have a nice sourdough bakery in Friedrichshain because we have really lack one. With that said, please come back after your vacation and give us what you and we customers deserve. I want you to have your success so I can have a nice and friendly bakery just a few minutes away.
It was my second time at your bakery this week. Monday I bought one baguette and it was baked to perfection. I gave 2 stars because you have really good customer service, the minimalistic interior and presentation is so appealing to me.
Same period as you are closed I go back home to Scandinavia and will be back in Berlin same day as you open again. I will give you a shot on the Tuesday and I hope for you and for me that you then will sell me a bread that one can expect from a bakery. Rest and enjoy...
Read moreYou know how bread in Germany went from being just a good handmade basic food, to nothing but sad mass produced tasteless disgrace due to the death of the bakers profession and was then reborn as a boutique product and now costs up to 8 euros a loaf and sometimes even more!
This is one of these boutiques where bread is displayed like jewelry or a MacBook and as weird as it sometimes is for someone who remembers bread when it was just a good handmade commodity, i’d rather have it this way then going back to eating sawdust and cardboard schrippen.
Just like all trends in Berlin it’s soon going to go from an “extraordinary-ordinary” product back to a more basic food as happened with coffee beer and pizza.
EDIT: the cheese sandwich!!! it slaps!!! geeeezzz it slaps so hard!!! just bread butter and cheese and yet it goes beyond lots of other sandwiches...
