Vegans, check this! At first glance, the place may be registered as rather unspectacular or even lacking, in terms of ambience and cosiness, so that one almost moves on, but they make up for this with very good cuisine and friendly (and fast!) service. Too often the odd one out, with my decision not to eat animals, I could have really hugged the waiter when he addressed us right away, handing out two different menus:"Would you like vegan or otherwise?" So I got a vegan menu, was very pleased with this remarkable welcome and then, the choices! I picked Bruschetta for a starter (nice touch with Balsamico), then a pizza with artichoke (delicious fresh home-made dough) and had an Espresso to begin with. It was mere gluttony and curiosity which led me to decide to have a dessert afterwards - the vegan tiramisu. I was happy enough with that one, too, although I missed the taste of alcohol in it. If you are a vegan, go there, because you can expect to be taken seriously with your wishes. That is so important :-) The interior is something that can be overlooked, since the food is so good. Obviously the team are very proud of all their awards, and it's understandable; they present them on every wall :-) "1st price, pizza competition such and such, pizza award here and there..." I lost count and focus over my huge plate and the nice conversation I was having :-)) Go...

I'm vegan, celiac, and lactose intolerant, and unlike in North America or Australia, it's very hard for me to find a pizza restaurant in Germany I can eat at, so it makes me very happy I was able to find this place during my latest Berlin visit. Once I told them I was celiac, they were very upfront about the risk level (which seems to have changed compared to some older reviews), describing they use a fully separated kitchen for preparing their gluten free pizzas and its just the bar and the dining area where cross-contamination might occur.
The pizza itself was very tasty, too, even though I had much better and more creamy vegan cheese before.
Since I'm bilingual and approached them in German, I can't comment on their ability to serve guests who don't speak German, but since the restaurant is in the middle of Friedrichshain, I would assume only speaking English to them wouldn't be an issue.
TL;DR amazing place for everyone and especially for people who are vegan and/or gluten free including those living with celiac disease, unless it's with a very high...

We decided to give this restaurant a try after seeing that they did vegan pizza. The pizzas were pretty average, maybe even a little undercooked (mushrooms were still hard). I wouldn't have minded eating here if it wasn't for the inappropriate and uncomfortable attitude that the staff gave us. As a gay couple, we didn't think we would get this kind of treatment in Berlin. But sadly, we had to deal with the waiter staring at us for the whole meal, talking to his other friend and laughing with at us (obviously speaking in German so we didn't know what they were saying), and making comments that made us want to leave straight away. It's not enough trying to find a city that you feel comfortable in as a couple, but to eat in peace without sexual harassment would have been nice too. I guess this wasn't the...
