MacLaren's Pub — Restaurant in Berlin

We stumbled upon this bar by chance and, being huge HIMYM fans, were super excited cause it looked like a really cool theme bar with lots of references to the show and a funny menu. The service was rather slow with the drinks. At some point we ordered three burgers, waited for them for more than an hour, and when (after queueing!) we got the chance to ask the waiter who took the order when we would get them, he said that the kitchen is closed and suggested that we buy some chips. To be honest this kind of ruined the whole experience for us. If your cook is overloaded and you know they won't have time to prepare an order, don't take the order. And if this happened, admit that you made a mistake, apologize and offer a complimentary drink or something. I think all of this could've been avoided if the place was not understaffed (even thought the waiter we had to deal with could definitely learn some manners). As advertised, it is definitely a HIMYM themed restaurant/pub. Sure, there's a lot of memorabilia, decorations and menu item names but that's about it. Other than that, it's just a basic pub in Berlin. You're not going there for the food, you're going there for the name/theming.

The service on the other hand was absolutely horrible and inattentive. First off, unless you have a reservation, good luck getting a seat. Plus on top of that, their online reservation system starts at 4 people. But it's not obvious on their reservation system how to indicate that you have less than 4 people in your party.

After that, the service went even more downhill. There were other tables that were given more attention than my family's. The waitress walked by the table numerous times and didn't even acknowledge that we were even there. It's like they forgot about non...

Just happened to be walking around for a bite to eat and found this pub. As a fan of HIMYM I found the interior and atmosphere as usually what I want from a pub and the music they had playing was the right vibe for the place. The burgers were pretty good and the sides as well but as the night progressed and the place got a little crowded the staff was struggling to keep up with the orders and it took us 30 mins of waiting for a couple just of beer refills as the waiting staff kept forgetting we ordered and we had to remind them 5 times exactly and I would think they would have had issues with the food orders as well at least during the peak hours. Will still be going there but I hope they can work on this issue. All in all a nice cozy pub and you'll like it even more if you love HIMYM and you...
