2018 The Marlene Bar, named after the famous German singer and actress Marlene Deitrich, is quite a sophisticated venue to meet up with work colleagues or friends. I found the staff quite warm and friendly and I thoroughly enjoyed my ‘Marlene hamburger’ supposedly reminiscent of how she enjoyed her hamburgers. The fries were crisp and crunchy. Thanks to an excellent barista, my coffee was perfect and the little slice of complimentary chocolate cake was divine❣️I did try a glass of German sparkling wine but it was just okay. I’m looking forward to returning. 2025 Back in Berlin again for the marathon. This time I ordered a Thai Curry. It was a vegetarian curry with the sauce on the side. The vegetables were colourful and fresh and the dish quite tasty. It was a small meal which suited me and the bread rolls (which were rock hard) were livened up with a whipped herbed butter. I thought the dish was expensive for the size - at least by Australian standards. (24 euro is roughly 48AUD) I did enjoy my non alcoholic cocktail. A berry fizz🍹

Our room was not ready so the receptionist gave us a coupon to have cup of tea at the Marlene. We gave our order to a waitress and there were in total of five waitress and waiter at the time. 20 minutes later I walk up to the counter to ask where is my tea? One of the waitress said it coming! Another 5 minutes later she delivered our tea without milk! I told her we ordered the tea with milk, she said she would bring the milk to us! 6 minutes later milk was delivered! This is around 4:30 in the afternoon, there are about 10 table with customer! I asked for supervisor, one of the supervisor came to talk to me about 25 minutes later! I escalated to the food and beverage department manager they both apologized I believe the their training program is a total failure and how can they put the untrained person to serve their customers? This is totally unacceptable. This is not the intercontinental hotel I know . This is not the Germany I

I recently had the pleasure of visiting the bar and I was impressed by the quality of service provided by the bar staff Daliyan ,Rachel , Eamong and Fawad .From the moment I arrived, they were welcoming, attentive, and highly professional. Whether I was ordering a classic cocktail or asking for a recommendation during day, the staff handled every request with efficiency and a genuine smile.

Daliyan was absolutely amazing we've been in the hotel for 3 nights . He's been attentive since day 1 and making us laugh and absolute soul to this place.

Rachel has been very attentive and helpful during the day . She's been very helpful with recommendations.

Eamong has been absolut super star. He made our evening so fun with jokes and making us absolutely giggle during our stay by our inside joke of obtaining a bottle of wine.

Fawad in the bar was very attentive, always checking in on myself and my friend to ensure our glasses were never empty and as a result made our experience in the bar effortless and quite relaxing

In short, the bar team played a big part in making my stay memorable. I’d happily return and would recommend the hotel to others partly because of the high standard of hospitality shown by...
