One of the best if not the best Egyptian restaurants in Berlin, especially that they are hard to come by nowadays. The owners are an authentic Egyptian couple from Upper Egypt, where most delicious Egyptian hearty food comes from. What makes this restaurant stand out from the rest in my opinion, is their koshary with kebda and Egyptian taameya (Falafel).
The Egyptian taameya tastes much different than the Falafel from other countries due to the different ingredients used. It is very green inside and has a darker brown color on the outside, and crispier with sesame seeds on top. The taameya is made from ground beans instead of chickpeas and uses a lot of finely cut Coriander, Parsley and sometimes even dill, hence it's green color. This taameya is served exclusively in this restaurant as far as I know, so it is already enough reason to give them a try.
The koshary with kebda is a favorite of mine and is a speciality of the south, so it is a must try there. The owners were so hospitable and friendly and even gave us complimentary taameya. Definitely looking forward to be back again and try different items off their menu, maybe a...
Read moreWent here with high expectations due to the good ratings but was unfortunately disappointed.
The koshsary was very underwhelming with overcooked pasta and watery tomato sauce.
We liked the Egyptian falafel called ta'ameya a lot but everything else was very average, including the salad and hummus.
They also ran out of tabouleh and explained that we can't order a portion seperately and the one which came with our plate was put on top of lettuce leaves to make it appear like more.
They also ran out of ketchup for our fries, so we got a small squeeze only on the side. And our food was not hot once we got it.
The service was friendly but slow and only cash payment is possible.
We sat outside at cozy looking tables but realized upon inspecting the cloths that they are very dirty with crusty food on it - probably not cleaned in a while.
Overall underwhelming experience and I think any of the neighboring restaurants would have been a...

During my recent trip to Berlin, I stumbled upon a hidden gem of an Egyptian restaurant highly recommended
I opted for the koshari and Hawawshi, and boy, was I in for a treat! The koshari was a harmonious blend of rice, lentils, chickpeas, and pasta, all perfectly seasoned and topped with a flavorful tomato sauce and crispy onions.
The Hawawshi was a revelation—a juicy and well-spiced meat filling encased in a soft, freshly baked bread that was simply divine.
The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring that my dining experience was nothing short of exceptional.
This restaurant is an absolute must-visit. Top 5 stars Highly...
