The restaurant i give this restaurant a one star review is for hidden fees. i had dinner there and my bill was about 35 euro. the menu clearly stated they take credit cards for amounts exceeding 10 euro. when i trief to pay they tried to add a 5% fee what was not disclosed. i argued I would give a tip but refused to pay the non disclosed 5% on my visa. they called the police and I was strongarmed to pay. A good way to squeeze from visitors, specially after i ate their a few times and never noticed.
I noticed the restaurant's response stating that I refused to pay with another card or cash. Yes, I did have cash, but it's the principle. I have a normal CHASE MANHATTAN VISA card, so there was nothing different about the card. The menu stated that cards are accepted for purchases of € 10 or more. There was no word about a surcharge for using a regular VISA credit card. So it was less than transparent. Creating such a discussion over EUR 1.60 fee with a client is poor service in a very competitive...

Read moreMy colleagues and I wanted to take a quick coffee break at Wittenbergplatz so we decided on café Noah’s. My colleague purchased an americano to go, as we stepped outside we decided to take a seat at the provided outside seating area. We had been sitting at the establishment for little over 2 minutes, as we were so rudely interrupted by a waitress who told us that we couldn’t sit outside of the café. Simply because we had ordered the coffee “to-go”. We told her that we had still purchased the coffee from this specific café. She was extremely rude to us, most likely due to the fact that we were foreigners. Because the German guests weren’t treated that way. Café Noah’s received one star because of the quality of the coffee, but nonetheless the staff were disrespectful. When we leave this establishment it is sure that we will not be returning or recommending it.
