Pho 56 — Restaurant in Berlin

I was SO DISAPPOINTED with the food, but even more with the service. I ordered a dish, and was waiting for the food to arrive. The kid that served us (think the son of the owners) attacked us that we were looking at him. First thing it is not forbidden, and second, to be clear, we were looking at the picture next to him, with a Vietnamese officer and I asked him who the officer was. He was very pugnacious and unpleasant, so we just stopped looking around the place. As the food arrived and I started to eat, me and my companion smelled a horrible stink from my dish. We tried the vegetable, that smelled bad and it was rancid like a butter. I asked the waiter to come and explained the situation, but he was very unpleasant and disrespectful, and talked back that "it suppose to be like this!" We didn't want it discuss any longer with the kid, this is not how you treat people, who give you employment. We just stopped eating, paid and left the place. Never again! HIGHLY...

Not the best Vietnamese restaurant in Berlin. Service was not good in that staff seemed irritated there were customers (pro tip: if you treat customers poorly, they go away). Food delivered was practically thrown on the table. I wish someone had inquired at any point about my meal; I ended up having to get spice condiments from a dirty table across the restaurant while staff just looked on. That said, the condiments definitely helped (I get that this is northern Vietnamese fare, so light on flavor and lots of green onions, but my pho was pretty much a bowl of hot water). I was going there whenever I had extra time during lunch. I love Vietnamese and moving to Berlin made it so easy to access it. The decoration is very eccentric not for all tastes so if the weather is nice you could just sit outside:) The food is great. Only once was the beef of my glass noodles salad(still need to memorise the name of my favourite Vietnamese dish) super hard. The desert is 5 stars. The bottled water makes me want to hold my thirst. 4,80€...
