Restaurant HODORI — Restaurant in Berlin

It was the most awful experience ever. Never go there, no basic respect towards customer. Completely incompetent and horrifying service, super rude waitress. Unless you want your evening being ruined and being traumatized twice in a row, that’s the perfect place!

Last Sunday (14 January 2024) I was assaulted by the waitress there. First I walked into the restaurant, and said “Hello” to the waiter standing by the door, he didn’t respond me. I walked into the seating area with an area with lots of empty tables without reservation labels. Since I used to go there a lot with my family, we used to find a table without any booking. After me and my family sit down, I went to ask for a menu. Then one of the waitress (long hair) start to interrogate me at a rude tune: “Who let you sit down?” I said “I greeted to the waiter by the door, but he didn’t answer, there are plenty of empty tables without reserved labels so we picked a seat ourselves”. Then she shouted to me: “nobody allow you sit down, you must GET OUT.” I was very offended by her request then I went out to speak to my family and came back with asking where is the manager.

They said the manger hasn’t showed up over a week. Then I spoke the male waiter who ignored me at first. He first apologized for him watching his phone didn’t seeing me talking to him but his tune was at least polite helping me to find vacancy before 8pm (we arrived at 5pm, it means a lot of vacancies, they apparently intentionally make a big fuss out of the reservations.)

Then one of the female waitress (short hair, thin who talks to the crowd waiting by the door last week) started to yell at me extremely loud and very rude: “why are you treating my colleagues like this!?” I was saying “i am not treating anyone anything, I said Hello at the entrance but nobody answered, I used to get an empty without booking several times in the past. Why are you shouting to me like this?” in a calm tune, then she yelled to me again 2nd time shouting:“why other customers waiting at the entrance, but you don’t?” I repeat: “I asked hello by the door, I am an old customer here, I used to get a table without booking several times. There is no label reserved on the table, it is not my fault i don’t know there many reservations today, is it? Why are you shouting to me again?” Even the other male waiter tried to calm down the situation and helped me to find a table, this female waitress was acting completely maniac, 3rd time using her tremendous volume yelling: “NO YOU MUST GET OUT!” in front of all the customers inside.

My godness, I was literally assaulted, it took me four days to get over from this traumatic experience and being able to write down everything. I should have called the police at that moment.

The waitress there are super rude and arrogant, The week before we tried to wait for a table over one and half hour with just three people in front of us. The waitress (the same one who shouted me) completely ignore people waiting at the door, allow people to stay inside as long as they want without considering anyone waiting at a very cold and windy evening.

No matter what kind of food they serve, seriously never go there. Who doesn’t want a nice Sunday evening, but they all ruin it. The service is ruining their business (especially this young lady shouted me three times). Seriously she is way too rude....

It was my first time at this restaurant today, and I was looking forward to it. However, from the moment we walked in, we were ignored. It took about five minutes and multiple passes by two waitresses for someone to finally approach us and speak. The service was incredibly slow, from the appetizers to the ordering process. Everything felt sluggish. What was most frustrating was the attitude of the servers. They treated us as if we owed them something, bringing out dishes and speaking to us without a single word of communication. They would simply drop the food and leave. Even when changing the gas canister for the stove, not a single word was uttered.And it’s hard to make eye contact with the servers, who you can only catch when they are passing by to serve the tables around you. The guests at the surrounding tables were similarly beset, and seemed unable to get the waitstaff’s attention from a distance. All appeared equally helpless. I could see that some were already becoming visibly irritated. I have never encountered such rude service before. If this is how you serve customers, I believe you should consider not being in the service industry or not running a restaurant at all. If my friends ask me to recommend a better Korean restaurant, I would definitely not suggest this place. I don't pay to receive a rude attitude. Now to the food: I have lived in Korea for almost 8 years and have tried Korean restaurants in various German cities since being here. This is by far the worst one. Do not order the seafood stew – it was bland...

First of all i am not a kind of person who normally posting comments online but because of the dissapointment i had last night i want to post my comments so nobody will feel the same i had last night.Before you go there make sure to read what the less stars comments was given if you search it in Google they just show first the high stars comments! Worst and amateurs service in town! Untidy and unfriendly staff!!! We've been there yesterday unfortunately it was Valentines Day! We searched a best Korean Restaurant in Berlin online unfortunately it was “HODORi” that we chosed. We sat and wait for our orders for 1.5 Hrs and finally one of our orders came..Im not wondering why it taking so much time to serve ours it is because,they served first their own people even they just came. After 1.5 hrs of waiting they served my husband food 20 minutes before mine. They didn’t serve rice with the dishes, we had to ask for it and still waited 5 more minutes, in the meantime the food got cold and for such a long waiting we lost our appetite.They really know how to ruin someone’s day. So we decided just to take it out! they just gave a bag and a box and leave it to our table,means to say just to do it by yourself. They are not short of staff I have to add. Approx. 5 waiters that night. I will never go back and even recommend this place.The Food photos youve seen on their site is not actually that fresh when it served.It was so upsetting and unforgettable memories. Huge disappointment!My first and last time...
