Wow. 4.3/5 would indicate a safe bet, I would have thought, but perhaps these ratings are the product of a conspiracy between people with some kind of cruel vendetta against the concept of deriving enjoyment from the necessity of eating.
Staff were sullen from the beginning. Well, ok, I don't require joyfulness from people at work if they're not feeling it. No marks subtracted there.
Sat down outside, ordered, tried to ignore the sound of staff members playing videos on their phones at a nearby table. Took a couple of bites of our meals before a car cut recklessly in front of a bike at the nearby junction. Cyclist (understandably) made his feelings on the matter known to the driver and anyone else within earshot, but continued on his way. Staff member, despite having nothing to do with the situation nor anyone involved in it, unleashed a verbal tirade on the cyclist, who is apparently a freeloader, making wanton use of the roads paid for by the (vaguely heroic) driver while contributing no taxes himself. The ludicrous chap (not the language our hero chose to use, but you get the gist) probably even votes Green! The fool. Our vituperative villain continued his vicious volley past the point at which the velocipedal victim could possibly have heard him, even given the considerable volume at which it was delivered. We stood up and moved our things (bags, plates, drinks) to a table a little farther from the furious fellow, whereby his colleague finally reminded him that there were customers present and suggested that perhaps he might keep his voice down. The two gentlemen then continued to mutter about us until we finished as much of our meal as we were inclined to, paid, and left. Our waiter didn't seem the slightest bit surprised not to receive a tip.
Pasta adequate assuming your expectations are modest, pizza grasping for the heights routinely achieved by the likes of Dr. Oetker but falling valiantly short.
The European Parliament elections are taking place this weekend. I feel that the Greens may have done enough to...
Read moreNice atmosphere but no ventilation and no door to the kitchen so the fumes were all over my clothes. The antipasti are way too expensive for the amount and quality they provide. The tomato for example is a specialty of the Italian kitchen, but here they use very plastic-y non-flavorful ones. The olives are very cheap and taste weird. The fish was okay. And then the weiters/owners I don’t even know who is who in that place. There are three people who seem not interested in doing business. The waiter on the door is rude and basically stares at you without saying a word if he doesn’t recognize your face. They seem tired from their jobs. I asked him what is in the vegetarian plate and he said vegetables 🙄. I asked what kind of vegetables, he said something in a weird way and I couldn’t understand. From the outside it looks sweet and cozy but it is another disappointment. Where are all the nice places with descent food...
Read moreWent for a meal with my oldest friend and so lucky we stumbled across this place. The menu was brilliant and the steak was absolutely completely and utterly perfect. We love steak and it was the best steak I had ever eaten at a restaurant. It was cosy and quiet and we had a great time together. The service na have been a little more aloof than you might expect at an Italian, but that wasn't a problem as we were happy with each other's company and everything we needed was provided. Had three courses and wine and the total bill was €78 which is great value (coming from the UK this sort of price is not...
